He suggested inasmuch as Sub- <br />division Committee's review and recommendation had not been before the Plan- <br />ning Commission be given the opportunity to study this problem. <br />City Manager concurred with suggestion made as matter might be resolved at <br />Planning Commission level without coming back to Council. Councilman Petersen <br />moved to refer this matter to the Planning Commission as suggested, seconded <br />by Councilman Henderson. Councilman Rosselli recalled there had been numerous <br />problems because of this requirement for half -street improvements having been <br />made by property owners in the past and still remaining only half improved, <br />and asked Staff to review this particular point thoroughly. (MINUTE ORDER #68-60) <br />Mr. Courland, 504 Lake View Way, representing Mr. Huber, <br />advised of the length of time he had been working on this <br />matter. He also advised this area where subdivision <br />located was a completely rural type area and that it was <br />a fact there was not a single surfaced street within a <br />miler. of this property. <br />DAMAGE CLAIM of Anne D. Farlee, 915 Warren Street, for property damages alleged to <br />have been caused by City sewer, denied and referred to insurance carrier, on <br />motion of Councilman Petersen, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />(MINUTE ORDER #68-61) <br />Report of Transportation Committee concerning purchase of recording fare boxes. <br />Councilman Petersen reported as a result of the authorization given by Council <br />for a member of the_Tramsportation Committee and a member of the Staff to go <br />to Los Angeles and investigate the used fare boxes which had been offered at <br />a great savings to the City, he and Assistant City Manager, Mr. Burget, had <br />made the trip and while a full report would be made next Monday, he recommended <br />that the used boxes be purchased and action be taken by Council at this meeting <br />to waive the formal bid procedure and make the funding appropriation necessary. <br />He described the fare boxes more fully as to their operating technique, excel- <br />lent condition, savings to City because they would be purchased for $275 each, <br />which was less than 1/3 of the original purchase price. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to waive formal bidding procedure and authorize is- <br />suance of a purchase order for eight fare boxes, seconded by Councilman Bury <br />and carried on roll call vote. (MINUTE ORDER #68-62) <br />Councilman Henderson moved to introduce Ordinance appropriating sum of $2,310 <br />from unappropriated balance of Sales Tax Capital expenditure fund to provide <br />for purchase of fare boxes for Municipal Transportation Facilities, seconded <br />by Councilman Keekley and carried on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Rosselli reported on the one meeting recently held by the Legislative <br />Committee, but requested another meeting be held Friday, March 8th, in At- <br />torney's office, to consider other legislative bills in order to report to <br />Council fully at a later date. <br />WR 4 '68 <br />
