COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Acknowledgement from Post Office Department, Washington, <br />D.C., of receipt of Councilts resolution urging issuance <br />of a Bi -Centennial Stamp for California. <br />Councilman Rosselli asked that a progress report be made at next week's Council <br />Meeting (March 11th) on the following items: <br />1. Friendly Acres Water System. <br />2. Report on reason signals not in operation at Oak <br />and El Camino where barrier has been cut through <br />to make the signalization possible. <br />3. Report on proposed restaurant for the Municipal <br />Marina. <br />Councilman Granger asked for a report on <br />1. Progress report concerning appointment of a City Attorney. <br />Councilman Keekley, Chairman of Council Committee, advised he had made a <br />report previously but could add now that a meeting of full Committee was <br />held as of this date and a review was made of the 12 applications which had <br />been filed. He advised the ones which had been rejected would be so notified <br />but thanking them for their interest in applying, and the remaining applicants <br />were to be notified that interview dates will commence within the next 30 days. <br />He cautioned Council that Committee did not intend to rush their recommenda- <br />tion for selection of the City Attorney as felt City most fortunate to have <br />a competent Acting City Attorney. <br />Councilman Henderson requested that a progress report be made to Council <br />on status of design and developments on Woodside Road widening project. City <br />Manager advised negotiations still continuing, as reported previously with PGE <br />to resolve undergrounding aspects of utilities in Woodside Road, and hoped <br />that an answer would be forthcoming within the next two weeks which he could <br />report to Council. <br />Councilman Rosselli stated biggest drawback concerned land acquisition, some <br />two and one-half million having been allotted in State's current budget <br />and another $750,000 for next year, but also that no official design for the <br />project had been accepted. <br />City Mhnager stated he was under impression that while final drawings may <br />not have been completed, the design factor was approved as had been present- <br />ed to City and County. Director of Public Works reported he was aware offact <br />that State still perfecting plans and specifications and would presume State <br />was following their usual careful procedure of stamping all preliminary maps <br />and charts as being incomplete, and he was confident from information he had <br />received that beginning of construction was intended for 1969. <br />MIR 4 'BB <br />
