Councilman Henderson stated she had been made aware by various individuals <br />vitally concerned with design of.this project that changes were being con- <br />sidered. Director of Public Works, stated the only modification he was <br />aware of being studied concerned the Palladino grocery store intersection <br />on Woodside Road (San Carlos Avenue at Woodside) in hope to bring cross <br />streets in alignment with each other'. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried. <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:15P.M. <br />HELEN C. MOORE, City Clerk <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />March 11, 1968 7:30 P.M. <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Henderson. <br />Invocation led by Reverend George Spindt, Messiah Lutheran Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present; Councilmen Robert H. Bury, Floyd D. <br />Granger, Mary W. Henderson, Herbert G. Petersen, John S. Rosselli, Mayor Sidney <br />D. Herkner, and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. (Councilman Paul C. Keckley noted <br />absent). Also noted present were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, Acting City <br />Attorney David E. Schricker, Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, Deputy <br />Police Chief Theodore Moudakas, Fire -Chief J. L. Lodi, Planning Director Ken <br />Schroeter, Director of Public Works J. Louis Scherer, Auditor -Accountant Jack <br />Ference, Recreation Director A. -S. -.Morton, and Deputy City Clerk Marian Mc- <br />Crindle. <br />Councilman Bury moved to approve Minutes of Regular Meeting of March 4, 19680 <br />as mailed, seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Resolution of Intention to abandon a portion of Elm Street, lying <br />between the Southwesterly line of Heller Street and the Northwesterly line of <br />Pennsylvania Avenue, declared open and affidavits of publication and posting <br />ordered filed. <br />Staff report stated this request for abandonment had been made by Wm. Barnett <br />on behalf of the Catholic Church who own the abutting property and desire to <br />use the land for expansion of their existing church facility. It was also <br />reported while Department of Public Works, PTT and PGE had consented in writing <br />to the abandonment prior to the start of these proceedings, PGE had since re- <br />quested that certain rights be reserved for them. <br />City Manager advised this portion of Elm Street had been designated as a public <br />street some years ago; that there were no improvements such as paving, curbs, <br />gutters, etc., being off Heller Street and terminating at Pennsylvania Avenue <br />running along the railroad track. He advised that Staff was of the opinion <br />there would be no possibility of street ever being extended over railroad track <br />Ae33 <br />W 11 •66 <br />
