Councilman Henderson stated she had been made aware by various individuals vitally concerned with design of.this project that changes were being con- sidered. Director of Public Works, stated the only modification he was aware of being studied concerned the Palladino grocery store intersection on Woodside Road (San Carlos Avenue at Woodside) in hope to bring cross streets in alignment with each other'. Councilman Rosselli moved to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:15P.M. HELEN C. Invocation led by Reverend George Spindt, Messiah Lutheran Church. ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present; Councilmen Robert H. Bury, Floyd D. Granger, Mary W. Henderson, Herbert G. Petersen, John S. Rosselli, Mayor Sidney D. Herkner, and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. (Councilman Paul C. Keckley noted absent). Also noted present were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, Acting City Attorney David E. Schricker, Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, Deputy Police Chief Theodore Moudakas, Fire -Chief J. L. Lodi, Planning Director Ken Schroeter, Director of Public Works J. Louis Scherer, Auditor -Accountant Jack Ference, Recreation Director A. -S. -.Morton, and Deputy City Clerk Marian Mc- Crindle. Councilman Bury moved to approve Minutes of Regular Meeting of March 4, 19680 as mailed, seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried. PUBLIC HEARING, Resolution of Intention to abandon a portion of Elm Street, lying between the Southwesterly line of Heller Street and the Northwesterly line of Pennsylvania Avenue, declared open and affidavits of publication and posting ordered filed. Staff report stated this request for abandonment had been made by Wm. Barnett on behalf of the Catholic Church who own the abutting property and desire to use the land for expansion of their existing church facility. It was also reported while Department of Public Works, PTT and PGE had consented in writing to the abandonment prior to the start of these proceedings, PGE had since re- quested that certain rights be reserved for them. City Manager advised this portion of Elm Street had been designated as a public street some years ago; that there were no improvements such as paving, curbs, gutters, etc., being off Heller Street and terminating at Pennsylvania Avenue running along the railroad track. He advised that Staff was of the opinion there would be no possibility of street ever being extended over railroad track Ae33 W 11 •66
