"SECTION 64. MONTHLY REPORTS: <br />"On the first day of each month every officer <br />authorized by law to charge any fee, commission, <br />percentage, allowance, or compensation, must make <br />a written report to the Auditor of all moneys <br />received by him during the preceding month." <br />Further, the Council of the City of Redwood City hereby <br />proposes, on its own motion, to amend the Charter of the City <br />I <br />of Redwood City, by amending Section 82 thereof, to read as <br />follows: <br />"SECTION 82. DISPOSITION OF PUBLIC MONEYS: <br />"All city officials, and employees empowered to <br />collect money for fees, permits, licenses, inspections, <br />services, taxes, or other municipal charges, shall collect <br />v the same promptly at the time they become due, turn them <br />into the city treasury daily, obtain a receipt therefor, <br />and report the same to the City Auditor daily. The <br />Council may by ordinance provide for the depositing and <br />reporting of moneys at such other time periods as found <br />appropriate, but not less often than weekly. All such <br />moneys and all fines or pecuniary penalties or forfeitures, <br />which may accrue to the city, and all funds which may <br />remain in the possession of the city unclaimed after a <br />period of one year from the date when due and payable, <br />shall be credited to the General Fund of the city, and <br />shall be applicable to any purpose to v7hich the Council <br />may appropriate them, and the Council shall appropriate <br />from this fund whatever sum may be necessary to pay valid <br />claims of more than•one year's standing. " <br />(a) Said Charter amendment proposal shall be submitted <br />to the electors of the City of Redwood City at the general <br />municipal election to be held in the City on April 9, 1968, <br />in the form of a proposal to amend said Charter by deleting <br />Sections 63 and 64 thereof, and by amending Section 82 thereof. <br />On the ballots and on the voting machines to be used at said <br />general municipal election, in addition to all other matters <br />required by law to be printed thereon, shall appear the <br />following: <br />- 10 - <br />
