property affected and the execution and delivery of <br />all necessary certificates and deeds therefor, under <br />such regulations as may be prescribed by ordinance; <br />provided, that when real estate is offered for sale <br />for city taxes due and delinquent thereon, the same <br />shall be sold to the city in like case and manner, and <br />with like effect and right of redemption as may be <br />struck off and sold to the state when offered for sale <br />for county taxes; and the Council shall have power to <br />provide by ordinance for the procedure to be followed <br />in such sales to the city and redemption thereafter.1t <br />(a) Said Charter amendment proposal shall be submitted <br />to the electors of the City of Redwood City at the general <br />municipal election to be held in the City on April 9, 1968, <br />in the form of a proposal to amend said Charter by amending <br />t <br />Sections 35 and 58 thereof. On the ballots and on the voting <br />machines to be used at said general municipal election, in <br />addition to all other matters required by law to be printed <br />thereon, shall appear the following: <br />PROPOSITION C: Shall the Charter of the city <br />of Redwood City be amended by <br />amending Sections 35 and 58 thereof to establish <br />as the tax lien date the first day of March, or <br />such other date as prescribed by State law, <br />rather than the first Monday in March? <br />SECTION 5. The Council of the City of Redwood City <br />hereby proposes, on its own motion, to amend the Charter of <br />the City of Redwood City, by deleting Sections 63 and 64 <br />thereof. The specific sections to be deleted read as follows: <br />"SECTION 63. DAILY DEPOSITS OF MONEY: <br />"All moneys received from taxes, licenses, fees, <br />fines, penalties and forfeitures, and all moneys <br />which may be collected or received by any officer <br />of the city in his official capacity, or from any <br />department of the city for the performance of any <br />official duty, and all moneys accruing to the city <br />from any source and all moneys directed by law or by <br />this charter to be paid or deposited in the treasury, <br />shall be paid into the treasury daily." <br />C�� <br />
