PROPOSITION D: Shall the Charter of the City of Redwood City be amended by deleting Sections 63 and 64, and amending Section 82 thereof relative to the time of depositing and reporting of funds collected by City officials and employees? SECTION 6. The Council of the City of Redwood City hereby proposes, on its own motion, to amend the Charter of the City of Redwood City, by adding Section 9a thereto, to read as follows: I "SECTION 9a. CONSECUTIVE TERMS: "No person shall be eligible to hold office as a councilman for more than four consecutive terms of office. "A partial term to which a person is appointed or elected to fill a vacancy in the Council shall not be included in computing consecutive terms. The full term during which a councilman may resign shall be included in the same manner as if no resignation had taken place. In the event any councilman is not elected at a regular election after serving one or more terms, such prior service shall not be included in computing subsequent terms of service and such person shall be eligible to subsequently serve four consecutive terms. Full terms or partial terms in excess of two years served prior to the effective date of this section shall not be included in computing consecutive terms." (a) Said Charter amendment proposal shall be submitted to the electors of the City of Redwood City at the general municipal election to be held in the City on April 9, 1968, in the form of a proposal to amend said Charter by adding Section 9a thereto. On the ballots and on the voting machines to be used at said general municipal election, in addition to all other matters required by law to be printed thereon, shall appear the following: PROPOSITION E: Shall the Charter of the City of Redwood City be amended by adding Section 9a thereto to limit the maximum number of consecutive terms of office for councilmen to four full terms?
