PROPOSITION D: Shall the Charter of the City <br />of Redwood City be amended by <br />deleting Sections 63 and 64, and amending <br />Section 82 thereof relative to the time of <br />depositing and reporting of funds collected <br />by City officials and employees? <br />SECTION 6. The Council of the City of Redwood City <br />hereby proposes, on its own motion, to amend the Charter of <br />the City of Redwood City, by adding Section 9a thereto, <br />to read as follows: <br />I <br />"SECTION 9a. CONSECUTIVE TERMS: <br />"No person shall be eligible to hold office as <br />a councilman for more than four consecutive terms <br />of office. <br />"A partial term to which a person is appointed <br />or elected to fill a vacancy in the Council shall not <br />be included in computing consecutive terms. The full <br />term during which a councilman may resign shall be <br />included in the same manner as if no resignation had <br />taken place. In the event any councilman is not <br />elected at a regular election after serving one or <br />more terms, such prior service shall not be included <br />in computing subsequent terms of service and such <br />person shall be eligible to subsequently serve four <br />consecutive terms. Full terms or partial terms in <br />excess of two years served prior to the effective date <br />of this section shall not be included in computing <br />consecutive terms." <br />(a) Said Charter amendment proposal shall be submitted <br />to the electors of the City of Redwood City at the general <br />municipal election to be held in the City on April 9, 1968, <br />in the form of a proposal to amend said Charter by adding <br />Section 9a thereto. On the ballots and on the voting machines <br />to be used at said general municipal election, in addition to <br />all other matters required by law to be printed thereon, <br />shall appear the following: <br />PROPOSITION E: Shall the Charter of the City <br />of Redwood City be amended by <br />adding Section 9a thereto to limit the maximum <br />number of consecutive terms of office for <br />councilmen to four full terms? <br />
