<br />a. Conduct a ground control survey. Horizontal control will be referenced to NAD <br />1983, and vertical control will be referenced to NGVD 1929 + 100 feet. <br />b. Conduct aerial photography of the entire Redwood Shores Area. <br />c. Produce planimetric/topographic mapping for the pipeline alignments. <br />Topographic mapping will have an horizontal accuracy of 1.0 feet and a vertical <br />accuracy of 0.25 feet. <br />d. Conduct supplement surveying with an horizontal accuracy of 0.5 feet and a <br />vertical accuracy of 0.25 feet. <br />6. Coordinate design activities with South Bay System Authority (SBSA) and the City, <br />including provision of design criteria for pipes and points-of-connection at edge of <br />SBSA property to other consultants. <br />7. Review the requirements for surge protection for the recycled water facilities, using <br />surge analysis results obtained from SBSA for their facilities. <br />8. Develop design criteria for locating recycled water distribution system <br />appurtenances such as line valves, blow-offs, air and vacuum valves, manual air <br />release valves, meters, fill stations, hydrants, and potable water standby <br />connections, etc. for use in the final design of the project. <br />9. Review existing details from previous recycled water project for South Bay Water <br />Recycling Program and develop new standard details for the City's recycled water <br />system. The details will include, but not limited to the following: potable water <br />standby connections, fire hydrants, line valves, manual blow-offs, combination air <br />valves, surge control valves, meter assemblies, corrosion control, and project <br />signage. <br />10. Develop a "typical" plan and profile sheet for City review and approval. <br />11. Develop plan sheets for the pipelines, showing existing utilities and the proposed <br />alignments. Hand drawn sketches of alignment alternatives may also be periodically <br />submitted for City review. Traffic patterns and bus route information provided by <br />City will be considered when developing alignments. <br />12. Prepare a preliminary design level estimate of most probable construction costs. <br />13. Prepare and submit 10 copies of the Preliminary Design Submittal that includes: <br />a. Design Criteria <br />b. Pipeline Alignment Analysis <br />c. Summary of Utilities Investigation <br />d. Summary of Permit Investigation <br />e.
