To closely manage the work and provide accurate reporting, each customer retrofit site or group of retrofits will be treated as an individual project. Labor effort, direct costs and construction related budgets and actual costs will be accounted for on a site-by-site basis as part of the Project Management Task. . The work under this contract is assumed to be performed over a 42 month period, as the treatment, storage, pumping and distribution facilities are constructed and placed into service. If the work under this contract extends beyond this time period, the scope of services and fee will require amendment. . The assessment of site conditions for hazardous materials is not included. If hazardous materials are encountered during design or construction, addressing these and related issues will constitute a change in scope. Service Provided by the City . The City will provide an individual that will serve as a point of contact between the City and the customer. This individual will assist the customer retrofit team in scheduling site work and construction activities, and in procuring agreements for service and site access. . The City, using its own forces, will design and implement changes to the potable water service pressure in Redwood Shores. The pressure will be increased to approximately 85 psi, to create a 10 psi differential above the proposed recycled water service pressure of approximately 75 psi. This will create potential problems with the services to existing commercial buildings and existing irrigation systems that could require the installation of individual pressure reducing assemblies on services or other remedial work. The City will coordinate this work with the implementation of the recycled water project. . The City will be performing a high level of landscape water conservation effort (BMP 5) simultaneously with the customer retrofit process and will coordinate these efforts with the work under this scope of services. The City will work with customers using in-house and other consultant forces to assure their on-site potable irrigation systems are working properly at the envisioned water pressure of the recycled water system, and prevent overspray and runoff to the extent possible. This work will be performed in advance or concurrent with the retrofit process. Information gathered from customers will be provided for consultants' use. . The City has contracted separately for program management services that include the development of an Engineering Report, an Operations Plan, and a Customer Training Manual, and overall coordination of regulatory permits with the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) and Department of Health Services (DHS). This information will be used in performing work under this scope of services with respect to performing customer training and coordinating DHS approvals of each site retrofit design and conversion.
