<br /> <br /> <br />Location Map <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Review Authority <br />The District proposes to construct, own, and operate a new two-story classroom <br />building on City property and a new single story classroom on the District property. The <br />new classroom buildings will be subject to review and approval by the California <br />Division of the State Architect (DSA). As the improvements fall under the authority of <br />DSA, the project is exempt from City discretionary review. The District has requested <br />the City to enter a Ground Lease agreement to permit the construction and operation of <br />the new classroom building on the City property. The City’s Real Property Acquisition <br />and Disposal policy requires the Planning Commission to make a determination of <br />General Plan consistency prior to the disposition of City property. The current General <br />Plan land use designation for the City property is Park (P). Staff recommends the <br />General Plan Land Use Map be amended to designate the new school building site and <br />City pump station Public Facilities (PF). <br /> <br />Community Outreach <br />The District has engaged in extensive community outreach regarding this project. <br />Highlights of the District’s efforts include: <br /> <br />• Presented to and met with the Redwood Shores Community Association (RSCA) <br />board regarding District intent for the Sandpiper project at its regularly scheduled <br />meeting on May 14, 2015. <br />• Reached out to the three local homeowners’ associations (HOAs) to outline the <br />project, invite communication, and announce community meetings.
