For etumple, ifa Partner Organization does not <br />observe the Friday following Thanksgiving, the Member may use that day offlater in the program year with proper <br />Absence Request Documentation provided. Should your Partner Organization observe a holiday thatPublic Allies <br />does not observe, you will be required to take that date as one ofyourpersonal days. Special situations will be <br />handled on a case-by-case basis. <br />Absence Notification Process <br />Illness and emergency situations - If you are going to be absent from your Partner Organization or from <br />Training/Team Service Day due to illness or emergency, you must speak with your Partner Organization <br />supervisor and/or Program Manager at least a half hour before the start of the workday. Once you have <br />returned to work, you must promptly submita completed absence request farm to your Program <br />Manager. Should you not speak with your Partner Organization Supervisor and/or Program Manager <br />prior to the start of that workday, you will be charged with an wwxxused absence which is cause for <br />dismissal. <br />Other Absences- When using one ofyour allofied personal daysfor a planned absencefrom the Partner <br />Organization, an Absence Request form must be completed and submitled for approval to your Partner <br />Organization Supervisor and Public Allies Program Manager at leastfive days in advance ofyour <br />absence. Absence requests not submitted at least two days in advance may be denied by either Public <br />Allies or your Partner Organization. If either party does not approve the absence request, the absence is <br />considered denied. Absence requestsjor Training/Team Service Days must be completed and submitted <br />Joe approval to your Public Allies Program Manager at least two days in advance ofyour absence. <br />Absence requests not submitted at least two days in advance may be denied by Public Allies. Absences <br />withoutprior approved documentation will be considered unexcited unless due to illness or emergency <br />situations (see "Illness and emergency situations"section above). Any unexcused absence may be grounds <br />for termination. <br />Jury Duly -Absences for jury duty are paid absences and count towards the i;roo howl that are required <br />to graduate from the Program..Approved absence requestdocumentation should still be submitted <br />following the above procedures; however, these days will not be deductedfrom your excused absence <br />allotment. <br />Non -Public Allies Training Opportunities - You may use two Training/Team Service Days to pursue <br />training opportunities, retreats or conferences thatare sponsored or supported by your Partner <br />Organization. The following restrictions apply: <br />o Members may not miss more than a total offow Training/Team Service Daysfor any reason. <br />o The alternate training opportunities may only be toed on regularly scheduled training/Team Service <br />Days; they may not be used to miss any part of a Program retreat. <br />o The event you choose to attend must be relevan t either to your work at your Partner Organization or <br />to the outcomes of the Public Allies program. <br />c You mustgiveyour Program Manager atleast one week's notice. Your Program Manager will use <br />his/her discretion to either approve or deny the Alternate Training Opportunity. If the denied request <br />is not observed by the Member, it will be considered an unexcused absence.
