MEMO 3/20/90 <br />b. Albert Franklin, 425 Chestnut Street, Redwood City distributed copies of The <br />Long Valley Gazette, March 9, 1990, from Canada College and referred Council <br />to articles and letters concerning graduation rates. Mayor Greenalch is to <br />meet with Mr. Franklin. <br />MEMO 3/20/90 <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />Mayor Greenalch declared a recess at 9:48 p.m. <br />Meeting reconvened at 9:56 p.m. <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />a. Councilman Murray reported on the meeting he attended today held by the <br />Environmental Protection Agency to discuss Westport, Super Fund ranking at <br />the time of the original testing and the limits of the proposed ranking at <br />the time of the original testing and the limits of the proposed ranking due <br />to be announced later this year, the chronology of the testing and hearing <br />processes, the different approaches to risk assessment by the City and the <br />EPA, and consequences and time tables of Super Fund ranking. The EPA <br />advised the first raw data will be available in late April and Councilman <br />Murray will keep Council advised. <br />b. Mayor Greenalch described the successful annual Kainos dinner and announced <br />that Councilman Bury and Housing Coordinator Debbi Jones - Thomas were <br />recognized for their outstanding contributions to Kainos throughout the <br />years. <br />BOARD, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />3. Resignation of Norman Kauffman from the Civic Cultural Commission due to <br />illness was accepted with great regret and with enormous gratitude for his <br />significant contributions to our community. Mayor Greenalch advised that <br />later this week he will present Mr. Kauffman a plaque in recognition of his <br />efforts to enhance the cultural experiences of the citizens of Redwood <br />City. <br />M /S: Stangel /Claire to accept the resignation of Norman Kauffman from the <br />Civic Cultural Commission <br />Carried by unanimous voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 029 <br />4.
