City Manager Smith described topics for discussion at proposed joint <br />Meeting of City Council and Planning Commission including departmental <br />strategies consistent with the General Plan and discussion of economic <br />policies. <br />CONSENSUS: It was determined by Mayor La Berge that it was the consensus <br />of the Council to meet with the Planning Commission for a Joint Study <br />Session on economic policies and departmental strategies on Monday, April <br />30, 1990, 7:30 p.m. in the community room of the new Library, <br />1044 Middlefield Road, Redwood City. j <br />MEMO 4/24/90 <br />c. Vice Mayor Bury reported on the Council of Mayo s meeting he attended this <br />morning regarding AB 4242, the regional governm nt proposal supported by <br />Speaker Willie Brown and advised he would keep ouncil informed on its <br />progress. <br />d. Councilman Stangel commented on the low election turnout of the April <br />election and requested City Clerk to research consolidation. Councilman <br />Claire suggested appointing 3- person panel to research the question or <br />having the Council Legislative Committee work with the City Clerk on this <br />issue. <br />CONSENSUS: It was determined by Mayor La Bergelthat it was the consensus <br />of the Council to have the Council Legislative Committee and the City <br />Clerk work together on researching the question of consolidation. <br />MEMO 4/24/90 <br />e. Councilman Greenalch advised that after 9 years on the Housing and Human <br />Concerns Committee and during this time of reorganization he would like to <br />be replaced on the Committee as he has had to miss meetings due to his <br />teaching schedule. <br />MEMO 4/24/90 <br />h. Councilman Murray congratulated Redwood Shores Properties and the <br />Stanford University for their very successful and quality rowing regatta <br />that took place in Redwood Shores on April 21 and 23, 1990. <br />i. Councilwoman Buchan reported on the wonderful Dia del Mundo Earth Day <br />celebration at Hoover School Park on April 22, 1990 and congratulated <br />Rosetta Johnson, Community Development Departmert, and all those who <br />worked on this successful event. <br />Reg.
