Council discussed specific cuts and their impacts; Council policy to focus <br />on youth and child care; the unfairness to those who did not attend today's <br />session and therefore did not ask for restoration of cuts; and the <br />recommended budget is higher than what had been allocated. <br />Councilman Stanqel suggested the following amendment which was accepted <br />by Councilman Claire who made the motion and Councilwoman Buchan who <br />seconded the motion: <br />To amend the Financial Assistance Budget by adding the following amounts: <br />$200 to Friends of Youth, $2,500 to Redwood City Child Care for School Age <br />Children /Child Care Consortium, and 43,500 to Youth and Family assistance <br />Program for a total of $6,200. <br />Councilman Claire who originated the motion and Councilwoman Buchan who <br />seconded the motion amended the original motion to read as follows: <br />M /S: Claire /Buchan to increase the Human Services Assistance Program Budget <br />from $231,243 to $246,853 with funds to come from the reserve, and restore <br />$200 to the Friends of Youth, $2,500 to the Redwood City Child Care for <br />School Age Children Consortium, and $3,500 to the Youth and Family <br />Assistance Program. <br />Carried by unanimous voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 90 -076 <br />Mayor La Berge advised Mr. O'Donnell of the Boys and Girls Club that the <br />City of Redwood City would be supporting the Club at the August 9th <br />fund raiser at the Louise Davies home. <br />--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />Mayor La Berge declared a recess at 10:40 a.m. <br />Meeting reconvened at 10:50 a.m. <br />--------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />Yvonne Folsom, Human Investment Project, Inc. requested consideration of <br />restoring the $9,000 cut from the original request of $17,000 and Mayor La <br />Berge advised it would be taken under consideration at the Public Hearing on <br />July 9, 1990. <br />MEMO 6/25/90 <br />--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />III. C.I.P. DISCUSSION <br />A. City Engineer Luck presented staff report on the Geographic Information <br />System Program being developed in the Engineering Division. <br />B.
