Recommendation: <br />M/S Ruskin /Howard to adopt a resolution supporting Proposition 1A on the <br />November 2, 2004 statewide ballot. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION 14603 SUPPORTING PROPOSITION 1A, THE "PROTECTION <br />OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT REVENUES" MEASURE, ON THE NOVEMBER 2, 2004 <br />STATEWIDE BALLOT <br />The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote by those present with <br />Council Member Hartnett and Vice Mayor Pierce absent. <br />B. Redwood City Recycled Water Project (802) <br />Public Works Services Director Ingram and Manager of Engineering and <br />Construction Chang explained both agreements before Council. He stated that <br />there are five components to the multiple stage, multi year project — the <br />treatment improvements, the distribution system and the customer site retrofits. <br />Council Members expressed support and acknowledgement for all the work on <br />this project. <br />Public Comment: <br />Christina Lai stated that a year ago she appeared and shared a class action <br />lawsuit that had been filed on behalf of 25 families in the San Antonio, Texas <br />area due to cross connection. She asked the Council to not allow the same thing <br />to happen to residents in Redwood City. <br />M/S Ruskin /Foust to: <br />1. By Motion, approve professional engineering services agreement with <br />Kennedy /Jenks Consultants for Recycled Water Project — Distribution System <br />Design — Redwood Shores Project Area, and authorize the City Manager to sign <br />agreement <br />2. By Motion, approve professional engineering services agreement with <br />Kennedy /Jenks Consultants for Recycled Water Project — Customer Retrofit and <br />Program Support Services — Phase One, and authorize the City Manager to sign <br />agreement. The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote by those <br />present.
