<br /> MSR:dp:9/1/78R <br /> "'Section 13.307 FIRE AND SMOKE ALARM SYSTEMS. <br /> " , (a) Every apartment house three stories or more <br />in height or containing more than 15 apartments and every <br />hotel three stories or more in height or containing 20 or <br />more guest rooms, shall have installed therein an approved <br />automatic or manually operated fire alarm system designed <br />to warn the occupants of the building in the event of fire. <br />Such fire alarm system shall be so designed that all <br />occupants of the building may be warned simultaneously, <br />and shall be in accordance with Section E740-3(d) , Part 3, <br />Title 24, California Administrative Code. <br /> " , (b) No signal system or intercommunicating system <br />used for any purpose other than fire warning meets the <br />requirements of this Article. <br /> " , (c) Installation, inspection, and maintenance of <br />the fire alarm system shall be according to the standards <br />set forth in NFPA Pamphlet No. 72A. <br /> " , (d) Stations for operating any manually operated <br />fire alarm system shall be placed immediately adjacent to <br />the telephone switchboard in the building, if there is <br />a switchboard, and at such other locations as may be <br />required by the Chief. <br /> " , (e) All residential buildings classified as <br />Group R, Division 1 or 3 occupancies, as defined in the <br />Uniform Building Code, 1976 Edition, and existing upon <br />the effective date of this section, shall have installed <br />in each unit therein an approved fire detection products- <br />of-combustion alarm device.
