DES:d~k 02/08/94 (045/37) DES:d~ 03/16/94R WHEREAS, this Council has received extensive evidence that said building constitutes a public nuisance as defined in Section 9.6 of the Code of the City of Redwood City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: 1. This Council hereby finds and determines that that certain building and appurtenances (hereinafter, "building" includes appurtenances thereto) located at 3726 Laurel Way, Redwood City, California, a single family dwelling, constitute a public nuisance as defined by certain provisions of Section 9.5 of the Code of the City of Redwood City, as follows: Redwood City Code (§9.5(a) [pertinent subdivisions referenced hereinafter] Description of Condition (4) Portions of said building are likely to fail, or to become detached or dislodged, or to collapse and thereby injure persons or damage property; (5) Portions of said building, or any member, appurtenance or ornamentation on the exterior thereof is not of sufficient strength or stability, or is not so anchored, attached or fastened in place so as to be capable of resisting a wind pressure of one-half of that specified in the Uniform Building Code, for new buildings of similar structure, purpose or location without exceeding the working stresses permitted in the Uniform Building Code, for such buildings; (6) A portion of the building has wracked, warped, buckled or settled to such an extent that walls or other structural portions have materially less resistance to winds or earthquakes than is required in the case of similar new construction; (7) The building, structure, or a portion thereof, because of (i) dilapidation, deterioration, or decay; (ii) faulty construction; (iii) the removal, movement 2 12153 ."'...""_,__"_......"M',~~··____,·_·_,·_,··.,,~_,_._·__ __.__.__'_"~._._..~""___
