This over-recovery ranges from a low of <br />$5 for the Small Conference Room – Residential room rental rate, to a high of $39 for <br />the Meeting Room A – Non-Residential room rate. It is important to note that these <br />rental rates should be based on the market rental rate for renting similar types of <br />facilities within the same area. On average, the Division is currently maintaining a cost <br />recovery level of 116% on a per unit basis. <br />2. COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS <br />The results of the Library facility rentals is intended to provided information to city <br />staff and management regarding the fully burdened cost associated with operating and <br />maintaining the different rental spaces within the library. The actual rental rates for <br />these facilities should be established based on competitiveness with other facilities in <br />the areas. <br />As such, the project team conducted a comparative analysis to analyze the <br />typical rental rates that are seen for other facilities. It is important to note that as fees <br />vary greatly for the same type of space depending upon location, the project team has <br />7.A. - Page 31
