Oral communications (continued)
Council described process whereby solutions where solicited and researched
and the need to go forward with these steps to address the parking problems
presented by the original petitioners. Councilman Stangel favored other
solutions before posting signs, but Mayor Greenalch, speaking for the
majority expressed Council desire to at least try these solutions.
City Manager Smith reminded everyone that the Franklin lot is a temporary
solution as the property is scheduled for development, school districts
cannot be forced to cooperate with their neighbors, and working to reduce
auto traffic is the only answer.
Mayor Greenalch will write a friendly letter to the school district asking
for new cooperative efforts in reducing parking, traffic and litter around
Sequoia High School.
MEMO 4/18/89
MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST
2.
