Establishing Export Licensing Office (98) (704 -05) <br />Report: City Manager 5/4/89 <br />Jim Hartnett, 346 Grand Street, Redwood City, Chairman of the San Mateo <br />County Business Development Commission spoke, in favor of establishing an <br />Export Licensing Office in San Mateo county. <br />Title read. Final application for 1989 -90 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds <br />(705 -02) <br />Report: Community Development Director <br />In response to Council questions Redevelopment Director Michael Church <br />explained that funds were not being allocated at this time to the Family <br />Living Center Operations as 1st year funding was included in initial funding <br />of 50,000, and Family Living Center Operations agreed to that arrangement at <br />that time. <br />Eldon Luce, 1187 Woodside Drive, Executive Director of Center for <br />Independence of the Disabled, thanked Council for their support and described <br />their program for modifications to aid the disabled. <br />Carolyn Nobles, Chairwoman of TEWCI, speaking on behalf of the Handiperson <br />Program, asked Council to restore the 25% cut recommended by the Housing and <br />Human Concerns Committee. Mrs. Bates, 206 Center Street, Mrs. Gallegos, 1145 <br />Ebener, Mrs. Jones, 3115 Jones, Redwood City, recipients of minor home <br />repairs provided by Handiperson Program asked Council to restore the 25% <br />funding and gave witness to the usefulness and need for the program in the <br />community. <br />Reg.Mtg. <br />5/8/89 MINUTE BOOK NO. 48 <br />Page 3 Page No. 379 <br />
