AYES: Councilmembers Buchan, Claire, LaBerge, Murray and Mayor <br />Greenalch <br />NOES: Councilmembers Bury and Stangel MINUTE ORDER NO. 89 -66 <br />--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />a. Maria Bransford of the Fair Oaks Senior Center representing Hispanos Unidos, <br />thanked the Council, the City Manager's Department, and especially Bob Jean, <br />Assistant City Manager, for their help and support for the successful Cinco <br />de Mayo celebration on May 14, 1989. <br />b. Fernando Vega, 321 Spring Street, also thanked the Council, the City <br />Manager's office and especially Bob Jean, Assistant City Manager for their <br />help and support in bringing about the successful Cinco de Mayo celebration <br />in downtown Redwood City on May 14, 1989. <br />C. Richard Silver, 234 Madison Avenue, congratulated the Council and City staff <br />for providing the Senior Citizen Volunteer parking brigade and thanked <br />everyone for creating and implementing such a good program. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />a. Vice Mayor LaBerge reported on the successful 49er souvenir turfgrass <br />events, May 11 press conference and May 13 community day and thanked Ampex, <br />Davey Properties, Canyon Inn and Prometheus for their support. <br />b. Mayor Greenalch thanked Vice Mayor LaBerge and Parks, Recreation and <br />Community Services Director Pete Griffiths for their creativity and hard work <br />in establishing and promoting the 49er turfgrass sales. <br />C. Councilman Murray thanked Redwood City Police Chief Anthony Guardino and the <br />police department for their handling of the May 13, 1989 incident at the <br />Choice Medical Clinic and for their support at the Cinco de Mayo <br />Celebration. <br />d. Mayor Greenalch reminded Council of the Sequoia Hospital Board of Directors <br />breakfast in the Hospital cafeteria, 5/17/89 at 7:30 a.m. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />Council recessed from 9:05 to 9:13 p.m. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />BOARD, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />3.
