<br /> Independence Day <br /> Labor Day (observed on the first Monday in September) <br /> Veterans Day (observed November 11) <br /> Thanksgiving Day <br /> The Day After Thanksgiving <br /> Christmas Eve <br /> Christmas Day <br /> New Year's Eve <br /> Two administrative holidays and such other days as may be <br /> proclaimed local holidays. Administrative holidays may only be <br /> taken in eight (8) hour increments. At the option of the worker, a <br /> worker may receive pay at the worker's straight-time rate of pay in <br /> lieu of one or both of the administrative holidays at eight (8) hours <br /> per administrative holiday. Payment shall be made to the worker <br /> by the first pay period in February. <br />18.2 Weekend Holidays <br /> When any of the above holidays falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be <br /> considered the holiday. When any of the above holidays falls on Saturday, the <br /> preceding Friday shall be considered the holiday. <br />18.3 Work on a Holiday <br /> Any worker who is required to work on any of the holidays, specified in Article <br /> 18.1.1 above shall, in addition to regular pay for such holiday, be paid one and <br /> one-half (1-1/2) times his/her established rate of pay for all hours actually worked <br /> on such holiday. <br />18.4 Holiday During Vacation <br /> In the event any of the holidays specified in Article 18.1.1 above occurs while a <br /> worker is on vacation or sick leave, the holiday shall not be charged as vacation <br /> or sick leave. <br />18.5 Holidays on A Regular Day Off <br /> If any holiday specified in Article 18.1.1 above falls on a worker's regular day off, <br /> the worker shall be allowed a regular workday off at a time determined by <br /> agreement between the worker and the Department Hèad or his or her <br /> designated representative. If the Department Head or his or her designated <br /> representative determines that it is not feasible to grant such other workday off, <br /> the worker shall be paid for the holiday on the basis of time and one-half (1-1/2) <br /> but not to exceed eight (8) hours for anyone (1) holiday. <br /> 27 <br />
