<br />18.6 Holidays for Workers on Alternative Work Schedules <br /> Except for Communications Dispatchers as provided below, workers on <br /> alternative work schedules will have leave, other than sick leave, deducted for <br /> any holiday leave hours in excess of eight (8) hours in one (1) day. <br />18.7 Holiday Pay for Communications Dispatchers <br /> In addition to overtime pay as described in 18.3 above, Communications <br /> Dispatchers who regularly work alternative schedules and who work on a City <br /> holiday, will receive holiday pay for all hours actually worked on such holiday. <br /> ARTICLE 19· VACATIONS <br />19.1 All full-time workers who have worked for the City six (6) months or more shall be <br /> entitled to vacation leave. <br /> The time during the calendar year at which a worker shall take vacation shall be <br /> determined by the Department Head with due regard to the wishes of the worker <br /> and particular regard to the needs of the service. During the period from March <br /> 1 through April 15 of each calendar year, all workers shall, on a form provided by <br /> the City, indicate their preferences for vacation periods. Preference of vacation <br /> date shall be given to workers according to their length of service in as <br /> reasonable manner as possible. Each department will post a final vacation <br /> schedule by April 30 of each year. <br />19.2 Full-time workers shall be entitled to annual vacation leave as follows: <br /> Upon date of hire through the fourth year of service, workers shall accrue <br /> vacation at a rate (3.077 hours per pay period) that yields 80 hours of vacation <br /> per year. The fifth through the ninth year of service, workers will accrue vacation <br /> at a rate (4.615 hours per pay period) that yields 120 hours of vacation per year. <br /> The tenth through the sixteenth year of service, workers will accrue vacation at a <br /> rate (6.154 hours per pay period) that yields 160 hours of vacation per year. The <br /> seventeenth through the nineteenth year of service, workers will accrue vacation <br /> at a rate (6.923 hours per pay period) that yields 180 hours of vacation per year. <br /> The twentieth and subsequent years of service, workers shall accrue vacation at <br /> a rate (7.692 hours per pay period) that yields 200 hours of vacation per year. <br />19.3 Vacation leave shall not be accumulated in excess of two (2) years accrued <br /> vacation leave computed to the 31 st of December, except upon written <br /> authorization of the Human Resources Director. <br /> 28 <br />
