<br />19.4 In the event a worker is reinstated, prior service shall be included in determining <br /> the applicable rate of accrual of vacation leave. Upon termination of employment <br /> a regular worker shall be paid cash value of his/her accrued vacation leave at the <br /> time of termination, in accordance with the above schedule. Vacation leave shall <br /> not be credited to any worker whose employment is terminated prior to <br /> certification as a regular worker. <br />19.5 Vacation leave shall not be granted during the first six (6) months of the original <br /> probationary period. <br />19.6 Illness During Vacation <br /> 19.6.1 A worker who commences a scheduled vacation period and <br /> subsequently becomes ill before his or her vacation period has <br /> been completed shall be placed on illness leave under the following <br /> conditions: <br /> 19.6.1.1 The worker otherwise qualifies for illness leave as <br /> provided by this Agreement; and, <br /> 19.6.1.2 The worker, if no longer ill, returns to duty <br /> immediately following the vacation period; and, <br /> 19.6.1.3 The worker's illness is verified by a statement from an <br /> accredited medical doctor for each such day of illness <br /> leave requested. <br /> 19.6.2 When the worker's vacation leave is to be converted to illness <br /> leave, the appropriate vacation credit shall be restored to the <br /> worker's earned vacation balance, and a reasonable opportunity to <br /> utilize this vacation credit shall be provided within the City's existing <br /> practices in order to avoid loss of vacation credit. <br /> ARTICLE 20 - LEAVE PROVISIONS <br />20.1 Sick Leave <br /> 20.1.1 Sick leave with pay shall be granted to all regular workers except <br /> as hereinafter provided, at the rate of one (1) working day for each <br /> full calendar month of service. Upon completion of six (6) months <br /> of employment, a worker shall be credited with six (6) days sick <br /> leave and shall accumulate sick leave thereafter at the rate of one <br /> 29 <br />
