<br />7.6 Overtime <br /> 7.6.1 Fifty-six (56) Hour Workweek Employees <br /> Overtime for employees in the classifications of Fire Fighter and <br /> Fire Captain is authorized time worked beyond the regular scheduled <br /> workweek in Section 7.4. Overtime shall be compensated at one and <br /> one-half (1-1/2) times the employee's regular rate of pay. Payment <br /> for overtime shall not be made unless such overtime has been <br /> authorized by the Fire Chief, or designated representative, prior to <br /> such overtime being worked. <br /> 7.6.2 Compensatory Time <br /> Upon request, employees shall be compensated for such overtime in <br /> compensatory time off. An employee's compensatory time off <br /> balance shall not exceed seventy-two (72) hours at any given time. <br /> 7.6.3 Hire Back Procedures <br /> The Hire Back procedures will be included in the Operations <br /> Manual. Any changes to the Hire Back procedures will be by meet <br /> and confer. <br />7.7 Paramedic Pay <br /> 1) Paramedic Premium Pay for paramedics - 10% of Base Pay. <br /> 2) Effective the first pay period on or after May 25, 1998, for all other <br /> firefighters including captains: Paramedic Assistance Pay - 2.5% of Base <br /> Pay. <br /> 3) FF/P's receiving Paramedic Pay will not receive Paramedic Assistance Pay. <br /> 4) Paramedic Pay will be added to base pay, regardless of position on engine or <br /> if on scheduled or non-scheduled hours. <br /> 5) Paramedic Pay will only be paid to FF/P's functioning in department <br /> approved Paramedic positions. <br /> 6) FF/P's will maintain Paramedic Pay when acting in higher classification. <br /> 7) A training allowance of $10,000 will be provided, in lieu of overtime pay <br /> while attending off duty training for those Firefighters attending the <br /> paramedic training program approved by the City. This $10,000 Training <br /> Allowance will be provided as follows: $2,500 upon acceptance into the <br /> Training Program as determined by examination and seniority; $2,500 upon <br /> successful completion of the didatic training; $2,500 upon successful <br /> completion of clinical training; $2,500 upon receipt of Paramedic <br /> Certification by the State of California and the County of San Mateo. <br /> 8) If an employee voluntarily withdraws from any portion of the Paramedic <br /> Training Program, the employee shall refund to the City the most recent <br /> 12 <br />
