Redwood City - Automated P=,-mit System Consulting Services <br /> <br />2.2. Requirements Definition <br /> This task results in the definition of requirements for the new permit system. The <br /> requirements form the foundation for evaluating systems proposed during the RFP <br /> process. Documenting clearly defined requirements for the automated permit <br /> system is critical to assure that the final system satisfies expectations of the city. <br /> <br /> Psomas will meet with city staff from each division that may be affected by the new <br /> permit system. Interviews will be conducted to discuss needs, current practices, <br /> critical activities of the permit system, likes and dislikes of the current system, <br /> interactions with other work groups or agencies, and future expectations <br /> associated with their work activities. <br /> <br /> Psomas will document the findings in a draft Automated Permit System <br /> Requirement report and submit to the city for review. A workshop will be held to <br /> review the findings and identify priorities that must be addressed by the new <br /> system. Comments on the draft report and from the workshop will be incorporated <br /> into a final Automated Permit System Requirement report. <br /> <br /> Beyond basic permit issuance and tracking, Psomas will review requirements for <br /> integration with other systems such as finance, imaging, and GIS. Data linkages <br /> with information sources such as property ownership, automated zoning ordinance, <br /> building code, and other files will be investigated. Psomas will work with the city to <br /> explore possible future needs for field access to the permit system, e-business <br /> linkages for on-line permitting and status tracking, and automated voice response <br /> system solutions. <br /> <br /> Deliverables <br /> <br /> 2.2.1.
