TA. - Page 217 /7 August 23, 2017 Lisa Costa Sanders Contract Planner City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Rd, Redwood City, CA 94063 Dear Ms. Costa Sanders, I am writing to inform the City of Redwood City that Rocketship Education would like to offer a shuttle service for students at the new Rocketship campus at 860 Charter St. While the evidence shows the current site and operational plans mitigate CEQA traffic concerns, we understand some members of the business community remained concerned about traffic. The shuttle service is proposed in direct response to those concerns, with the intention of reducing trip count well below the agreed upon County maximum. With four 10 passenger shuttles each operating two routes in the morning and in the afternoon, we expect the shuttles to relieve up to 80 students during arrival and 80 students during dismissal. This shuttle service is a continuation of our operations, currently transporting students from the North Fair Oaks community to our temporary Prop 39 site at Kennedy Middle School. A letter from Hexagon Transportation Consultants is attached, outlining the benefits of the shuttles for the new permanent campus at 860 Charter St as it relates to the initial traffic study. All but one of the shuttles will be parked at our office in Redwood City when not in operation. One shuttle will remain on site, driven between the school and office to pick-up and drop-off the shuttles, and by one of the staff members back home at night. We appreciate the City Staff's time in discussing this proposal and we hope this proposal demonstrates our commitment to problem solving with the community.
