The queue length is determined <br /> based on the number of parent vehicle trips since school employees arrive and depart before and <br /> after the peak student drop-off and pick-up periods. The proposed student shuttle program would <br /> reduce the parent vehicle trips by 19 percent and 37 percent during the AM and PM peak hour, <br /> respectively. Thus, the student shuttles are expected to reduce the maximum queue during the <br /> peak drop-off period from 18 to 15 vehicles (375 feet). Similarly, the shuttles would reduce the <br /> maximum queue during the peak pick-up period from 16 vehicles to 10 vehicles (250 feet). <br /> Including the loading zone, the proposed project would provide 460 feet of queue space on site. As <br /> stated in the project TIA, drop-off and pick-up queues are expected to be contained within the <br /> project site even without the proposed shuttles. The proposed shuttles would reduce the on-site <br /> queues to further ensure that queues do not extend on to Charter Street. In addition, the school <br /> has proposed Travel Demand Management (TDM) measures such as bicycle parking and financial <br /> incentives for carpools that would further reduce the parent vehicle trips and on-site queue length. <br /> H EXA60N Page 12 <br />
