7.16 Holidays <br />Regular full-time employees shall be entitled to take all authorized holidays at full <br />pay, not to exceed ten (10) hours, for any one (1) day, provided they are in a pay <br />status ten (10) hours, as the case may be, on both their regularly scheduled <br />workdays immediately preceding and following the holiday; and provided further <br />that original probationary employees shall be eligible for the following holidays <br />one (1) through ten (10) only at the straight -time rate of pay during the first six (6) <br />months of service with the City and for the floating holidays eleven (11) only <br />upon completion of twelve (12) months' service with the City. <br />The following shall be paid holidays to all employees who are covered by this <br />MOU: <br />1. New Year's Day <br />2. Martin Luther King Jr. Day (observed on the 3rd Monday in January) <br />3. Washington's Birthday (Observed on the third Monday in February) <br />4. Memorial Day (Observed on the last Monday in May) <br />5. Independence Day <br />6. Labor Day (Observed on the first Monday in September) <br />7. Veterans Day (Observed November 11) <br />8. Thanksgiving Day <br />9. The Day after Thanksgiving <br />10. Christmas Day <br />11. Four administrative holidays and such other days as may be proclaimed local <br />holidays. <br />In the event any of the holidays specified above occurs while an employee is on <br />vacation or sick leave, the holiday shall not be charged as vacation or sick leave. <br />A holiday that falls on Saturday shall be celebrated on Friday and a holiday that <br />falls on Sunday shall be celebrated on Monday. <br />7.17 Call Back / Call -Out Pav <br />Effective with the first full pay period on or after September 1, 2001, employees <br />who are called back after leaving work at the end of the normal working day or <br />called in to work on their days off shall be credited with no less than two (2) hours <br />at the overtime rate. <br />14 <br />
