of Intention No.F-6 sewer on Hudson street and other streets, was on motion of Trustee z
Mabie, seconded by Trustee honteith and carried same be received and filed,
3
The following protest was received from Geo.E.wallace ,against laying sewer on his
propert y known as Wallace Subdivision. w
RedvToocl Qi.ty, June gth.1923,
ti
To the Honorable Board of Town Trustees.,
Redwood City, California.
Gentlemen;-
I hereby protest against the construction of a sewer or sewer•pipe"on my
property which is known as the Wallace Subdivision, and I base my protest on the ground
that it is unnecessary at this time-.
My holdings consist of about nine acres and I have laid the same,.oi#lgts
and blocks and built streets and made other improvements;, thereon, for the purpose of
in
selling the real estate, I have sold none of the lots and futhermore, there are no houses
on the property other than my residence and two other small houses. These are the only
three houses on the Tract, ,and there ate no pther houses close by. The vicinity through
which your Honorable Body proposes to construct the sewer and lay pipes is not -populated
and there are but few residences therein, ar}d therefore,I respectfully submit that there
-' is hardly any necessity for a sewer at this time and besides, there is no demand for the
improvement now. a „
s r The tax on the property is high enough without this 8xtr4 tax,It will -become
burdensome and you can readily see the tax and the burden I have to pay and assume if you
go on with this improvement. I will be obliged to sacrifice the property 'and 'the Het6h-
Hetchy people are now about to condemn,a.ri ht -of -way throe h m
g. y g y p.op erty and this will
in a ...measure detract from the sale of the lots as it goes through the property in' an,,,
F angular position so you can.readily see why I am not in favor of this improvement. I may
be able to dispose -of the property and in this way be relieved dfd the burden of this, heavy
tax. I would have $o objection If the property was in any way built up,but,as there are
only a few residnnee in this section I deem it°unnecessary and unwise and burdensome to
make the improvement now.
Trusting you will give this petition a favorable consideration and defer
further improvement until, such time as the occasion warrants it,.,
-.
Respectfully submitted,
Geo.E.«alla-ee. —
A
Trustee Beeger offers the following Resolution and moves its adoption,Trustee Mabie 6econds1
the motion,Motion Carried.
RESOLUTION OVERRULING PROTEST,
f WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City, didraon the 7th.day of May,1923,
pass and adopt Resolution of Intention No.F-6,to order certain work to be done and improve -
S
meats to be made as described in said Resolution of Intention No.F-6;
AND WHEREAS, at the time fixed in said Resolution of Intention No.F-6 and notices of
the passage thereof; when and where any and all persons could appear before the Board of
Trustees of the Town of Redwood City and show cause why said proposed work and improve-
ments should not be carried out in accordance with said Resolution of Intention No.F-6,
one George E.!allace filed with the clerk of the Town of Redwood City his written protest•
against a portion of said work; and
whereas, said Board of Trustees having heard said protest and fully considered the
same does hereby determine that, said protest is not made by the owner of a majority of
j the property fronting on said proposed work and improvements; and
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by said Board of Trustees that said protest be and the same is
hereby overruled.
Passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City at the hour of
10.20 o'clock P.14.at a regular meeting of said Board held on the 18th day of June,1923,
by the following vote; -
Ayes and in favor of the passage of the foregoing Resolution, Trustees,
C.K.Idabie,A.E.Monteith, H.A.Beeger, G.W,IdcNulty.
-------------------------------------------------------- ------
Noes and against the passage of the foregoing Resolution,Trustees, None:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absent,Trustee M.E.Ryan,
------------------------ G,W*McNulty,
Attest w.A.Price.
