Redwood City, December 5th, 1927, 7:$0 o'clock P.M.
<br />Regular meeting of the City Council held.
<br />Upon roll call there were present Councilmen Mayor H. A. Beeger, Z. T.
<br />Thorning, D. R. Stafford, E. M.,Dearborn, City Clerk W. A. Price.
<br />Absent, Councilman G. W. McNulty.
<br />On motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman Thorning, minutes of
<br />previous meetings be approved as read. Motion carried.
<br />Moved by Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman Thorning, the map sub-
<br />mitted of Dumbarton Acres Map 2, same be a resubdivision of Lot "C", and portion of Lot
<br />As Dumbarton Acres, and a portion be amoepted as a public street, be approved by the
<br />Council. Motion carried.
<br />Complaint of Tony DeSilva about the condition the sewer contractor had left
<br />the sidewalk in front of his place of business on the Highway, South Redwood, was on
<br />motion of Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Councilman Thorning, same be referred to
<br />Superintendent of Streets, Dimmitt. motion carried.
<br />Moved by Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Dearborn, the application
<br />of John W. Munday for a permit to erect a building on his property fronting on Broadway
<br />in line with the proposed new street over the channel between Broadway and Webster
<br />Street, be denied.' Motion carried.
<br />On motion of Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Councilman Thorning, the City
<br />Clerk be instructed to advertise for a 'street sweeping machine, specifications to be
<br />drawn up by the Superinteni ent of Streets, and said bids to be opened January 3rd, 1927,
<br />at 7:30 o'clock P'.M. Motion carried.
<br />1. Application of the Peninsula Paving Company for an extension of 60 days time
<br />on their contract on Madison Avenue was on motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by
<br />Councilman Dearborn, same be granted. Motion carried.
<br />Application of Al Markgraf, Orchestra, for a permit to hold a dance in
<br />Forester's Hall on Wednesday evenings, December 7th, 21st, 28th, 1927, was on motion of
<br />Councilman Thorning, seoonded by Aouncilman�Stafford, same be granted, Motion carried.
<br />Communication from the Redwood City Harbor Company regarding anew dumping
<br />.ground for the Redwood City garbage, was on motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by
<br />Councilman Dearborn, same be received and filed. Motion carried.
<br />Communication from the City Council of Burlingame with a resolution in regard
<br />to making a special re -appraisal of all property in San Mateo County was on motion of
<br />Councilman Stafford., seconded by Councilman Thorning, same be received and filed, and
<br />the,City Attorney be instructed to draft a resolution in accordance to his suggestions:

<br />Communication from James DeBenedette in regard to change of taxi name was on
<br />motion of Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Councilman Thorning, same be referred back
<br />to Mr. DeBenedette, as the Council has no jurisdiction in the matter. Motion carried.
<br />Moved by Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman Thorning, the matter
<br />regarding sidewalks along the Woodside Road be laid over until next meeting$ Motion
<br />carried.
<br />Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman Thorning, moved the introduction
<br />of an Ordinance entitled, "Ordinance No.•277 An Ordinance approving the annexation of
<br />certain territory to the Tovin of Redwood City"'. Motion carried.
<br />On motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Stafford, the City
<br />Purchasing Agent be authorized to purchase 500 feet of 2-• inch Cracker Jacket Fire hose.

<br />On motion of Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Councilman Stafford, affidavit
<br />of W. A. Price, City Clerk, in the matter of mailing notice of filing street assessment
