<br />Regular meeting of the City Council held,
<br />Upon roll call there were present Councilmen, Mayor H.A.Beeger, Z.T.Thorning, D.R.
<br />Stafford, G.W.MeNulty, E.M.Dearborn, City Clerk W.A.Priee,
<br />Minutes of August 6th, and 13th, 1928,were on motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded
<br />by Councilman Thorning, same be approved as read. Motion carried.
<br />On motion of Councilman McNulty seconded by Councilman Dearborn Mr Paul be granted
<br />.permission to erect a Redeemer Lutheran Church sign at the corner of State Highway and
<br />Jefferson Ave. Motion carried,
<br />Communication from the Redwood City District Real Estate Board and petition containin,;
<br />the names of 23 property owners in that vicinity for the re -zoning pf portion of Lot,one,
<br />two and three in Block"C", Vera Avenue Villas, was on motion of Councilman Stafford, sec-
<br />onde(I by Councilman Dearborn, said communication be referred to the Planning CommisSion.
<br />Motion carried.
<br />Communication from Mrs A.A.Peterson of 637 Katherine Street this City, asking the
<br />Council to change the first zoning lines now on Grand Street and Katherine Street to
<br />Street so she can build an appat+tment „ was on moti•on,of Councilman Stafford,
<br />econded by Councilman Thorning same be referred to'the Planning Commission,Motion Barri-)d.
<br />Communication from A.D.Walsh soliciting a portion of the fire insurance on new mire
<br />e, was on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Dearborn'same be ree-
<br />eyed and filed. Motion carried.
<br />The following communication was received and presented to the Council* to -wit:

<br />Gentlemen;
<br />I hereby tender my resignation as chief of the Redwood City Fire Depart-
<br />ment to take effect August. 21st, 1928.

<br />was on motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Stafford the Council refuse
<br />to 4cept the resignation of Mr M.E.Ryan as'Fire Chief of the Redwood City Fire Depart -
<br />went. Motion carried, "
<br />Application of the Cullen Company, (Margart V. Cullen,Pres)for a permit to estab-
<br />lish a Super, Service Station on their property situated on the northeast corner of Main,
<br />and Webster Streets as per Plans and Specifications approved by the Building Inspector.
<br />was on motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman McNulty, same be granted,

<br />Moved by Councilman Dearborn seconded by Councilman Stafford the City Engineer
<br />prepare Plans and Specifications for the improvement of Stafford St, Motion carried.
<br />Communication from Anna Kavanaugh and E.C.Kavanaugh to change the course of the
<br />creek now flowing through Lots 6, Blk A. Lots 14.15, 17, 180 20, Blk B, and lots 11, 12
<br />139 Blk B, of Fay's Redwood Gardens, was on motion of Councilman Dearborn seconded by
<br />Councilman Thorning, said permit be granted under the supervision of the City Engineer-
<br />also Plans and Specifications including estimate and etc. Motion carried.
<br />On motion of Councilman Thorning,seconded by Councilman McNulty the oath of office
<br />of the City Planning Commissioners be received and filed. Motion carried.
<br />Moved by Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Thorning the Supt of Streets
<br />be authorized to have dirt hauled from Edgewood Park to the new fire house site the cosi
<br />of hauling to be seventy five (75V) per yard. Motion carried.
<br />on motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Stafford Mr A.J.Reith
<br />be appointed to the term of one (1) year on the City Planning Commission,Motion carried
