R. <br />Stafford, G.W.McNulty, E.K.Dearborn, City Clerk W.A.Price. <br />Minutes of meeting held June 3rd, 1929, were read and on motion of Councilman <br />Thornkng, seconded by Councilman Stafford said minutes be approved as read. IaTotion carried. <br />On motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman McNulty, City Treasurer <br />B.E.Myers be authorized to transfer 010.000.00 from the water fund to the General Fund, <br />Motion carried. <br />Affidavits of Lora 0. Benning of the Redwood City Tribune in the matter of Pub- <br />lishing notices of Nominees for Public Office, and Notice of Election, far awspQ;cin�L elec- <br />;tion;re_a in'; tie ::City Q, i?ewoo� 1:j;-,tie-Izelv�tlign b;? ad. <br />Councilmen and a proposition of bonding the City of Redwood City in the <br />amount of 065.000,00 for a new City Hall, was on motion of'Councilman Stafford, seconded. <br />by Councilman Thorning said affidavits be received and filed. Motion carried. <br />Municipal <br />This being the time for canvasing the returns of the Special/Election held in thw <br />City of Redwood City on Tuesday June 11th, 1929, which election was held pursuant to notice <br />of said election given duly and published by law, and the order 'of the Council -of said City <br />of Redwood City, the said Council of the City of Redwood City proceeded to examine the <br />for two new councilmen and one proposiyion <br />reiturns of said special election/as delivered by the by the Clerk of the City of Redwood <br />City and found the same properly sealed and in proper condition, The Council of the City <br />of Redwood City proceeded to esams.aesAia returns afdsaaLddsbeuineilhsv.!bAgoaanvased said re- <br />turns in public by opening said returns and estimating and computing the vote on the <br />proposition voted upon at said special election hereby declares the result of said special <br />election as follows, to -wit: <br />THAT THE TOTAL VOTE CASTED AT SAID SPECIAL ELECTION WAS 1288. <br />For Councilmem: <br />William J. Motion carried <br />Moved by Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman Thorning, Paul A McCarthy <br />received <br />be declared elected ah.d having/the highest number of votes he be elected for the long term <br />ar.,! having <br />his term expiringbexpiring in April, 1932. Motion carried <br />Moved by Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman Thorning that William J,Dusel <br />be dAclAndd elected for the short term his term expiring April, 1930. Motion carried. <br />The oath of Office was admistered. to Paul A. McCarty and William J. Dusel by Vity <br />Attorney Albert Mansfield, whereupon they took <br />�/there seat in the Council. <br />D <br />Application of Mr Curran Robinson to erect a store building on his property situa- <br />ted on the southeast corner of Broadway and Highway over the seven (7) foot set back line. <br />was on motion of Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Councilman Dasel said permit be denied. <br />Moyion carried. <br />
