124 <br />together with the interest thereon, and to maintain the public library of said City <br />during said year, and to maintain the I'lanning OommisZion of said .ity during said year, and <br />for the payment of certain street improvement bonds of said City issued under the improvement <br />Bond act of 1915 of the State of California be:oming delinquent during said year. <br />The Council of the City of Redwood City does ordain as follow;. to -wit: ) Motion carried. <br />The further hearing of the protest against the street work under Resolution of Intent- <br />ion No. L-2 was taken up and considered by the City Council and after a full consideration <br />of said protest the following resolution was offered by Uouncilman I:icCarthy, seconded by Council <br />man Dusel and carried. <br />RESOLUTION OVERRULING PROTESTS AND OBJECTIONS 20 <br />CONFIRMATION OF ASSESSMENT UNDER :iESOLUTION OF <br />INTENTION NO. L-2 AND UONPIRMiNG SAID ASSESSMENT <br />WHEREAS, the assessment for street work done under that certain contract dated the 2nd <br />day of April, 1928, between the Peninsula Paving Company, a corporation, first party, and C. <br />L. Dimmitt, as Superintendent of Streets of the City of Redwood City, second:aparty, for the <br />doing of all street work mentioned and described in Resolution of Intention No. L-2, passed <br />and adopted by the Council of the Town of Redwood City on the 4th day of February, 1929, and <br />now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City of Redwood City, to which Resolution <br />of Intention reference is hereby made for a description of said work, was filed in the office <br />of the Clerk of said City of Redwood City on the 17th day of July, 1929; and <br />WHEREAS, said City Clerk did thereupon fox Monday, the 5th day of August, 1929, at the <br />hour of 8:00 o'clock P. M. of said day, at the meeting place of the Council of the City of <br />Redwood City, in the Council Chamber in the City Hall on Webster Street in said City, as the <br />time and place for makipg writting objections thereto, as provided for in the Improvement <br />Act of 1911; and <br />WHEREAS, notice of the filing of said assessment and of the time fixed for hearing <br />thereon was duly given by posting, mailing and publishing, as required by law, as appears <br />from the affidavits of Sam. H. Winklebleck and W. A. Price, City Clerk, now on file in the <br />office of the Clerk of said City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, at the time and place last herein mentioned, certain written objections were <br />made against the work performed under said Resolution of Intention No. 1-2 and against the <br />assessment therefor; and <br />s <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City did continue the hearing on said ass- S, <br />essment to the 19th day of August, 1929, at 8 o'clock P.M. of said day; and 1 <br />WHEREAS, the Council of said City of Redwood City did proceed to hear and consider said <br />protests and objections, and after having duly and fully considered the same: <br />NOW THEREFORE? BE IT RESOLVED BY THE Council of the City of Redwood City that said <br />protests and objections be and the same are hereby overruled, and the Council does hereby <br />determine that the work performed under said Resolution of Intention No. L-2 was performed <br />according to theplans and specifications and in a good and substantial manner, and said Coun- <br />il does hereby approve said work and all acts and determinations of the Superintendent of <br />Streets in relation thereto. <br />AND BY IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood that the assessment <br />herein mentioned for street work done under said Resolution of Intention No. L-2 hereinbefore <br />referred to herein, together with the diagram attached thereto, be and the same are hereby <br />approved and adopted, and the Superintendent of Streets of said City of Redwood City is hereby <br />
