<br />WHl;REAS, the Council of the Town of Redwood City did thereafter, pursuant to law, app -141

<br />oint L. A. H®inar, Walter T. Kellogg, and Edwin B. Fox commissioners to assess benefits and
<br />damages and have general supervision of the work and improvements described in said Resolut-
<br />ion of Intention No. L-1 hereinbefore referred to herein until the completion thereof; and
<br />WHEREAS, said above name commissioners thereafter duly qualified as such, as provided
<br />by law, and..."
<br />WHEREAS, said commissioners did, on the 8th day of August, 1929, make a written report
<br />to the Council of the City of Redwood City, which report was accompanied by a plat of the
<br />assessment district showing the lands to be taken for the work and improvements hereinbefore
<br />mintioned and the lands assessed and showing the relative location of each district, block,
<br />lot or portion of lot, and its dimensions, so far as said commissioners could reasonably
<br />ascertain the same; that said report contained an assessment of the berifits and damages to
<br />all lots or portions of lots in said assessment district, which district is described in said
<br />Resolution of Intention No. L-1 hereinbefore referred to and to which reference is hereby
<br />made for a description thereof; and
<br />WHEREAS, said report, assessment and plat were filed in the office of the Clerk of the
<br />City of Redwood City on said 8th day of August, 1929; and
<br />WHEREAS, said Clerk did give notice of the filing of said report, assessment and plat in
<br />his office, as required by law, as appears from the affidavit of Lora Benning, now on file in
<br />the office of said Clerk; and
<br />WHEREAS, in and by said notice of said Clerk did fix Thursday, the 12th day of Septemb-
<br />er, 1929, at the hour of 5:00 o'clock P.M. of said day., as the day, time and place on or
<br />before which all persons interested and objecting to said report, assessment and plat could
<br />i
<br />make their objections thereto in writing, as provided by law; and
<br />WHEREAS, within the time fixed in said notice and as allowed by law, certain owners of
<br />propetty in the district to be assessed for said work and improvementsmade objections to the
<br />J .
<br />confirmation of said assessment in writing; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Clerk of said City of Redwood City has presented said objections to the
<br />Council.of said City at this, its next regular meeting after the expiration of the time with-
<br />in which said objections could be made.
<br />NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby fix Monday, the 7th
<br />day of October, 19299 at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M. of said day, at the Council Chamber
<br />in the City Hall on Webster Street in said City as the day, hour and plade when and where
<br />said -written objections to the confirmation of said report, assessment and plat so filed as
<br />aforesaid will be heard by said Council.
<br />AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that the Clerk of
<br />said City be and he is hereby ordered and directed to give to the persons making said written
<br />f objections the proper notification of the time and place of the hearing thereon.
<br />The law referred to herein and umder which the work mentioned in said Resolution of Int-
<br />ention No. L-1 is to be done is that certain Act of the Legislature of the State of California
<br />entitled "An Act to Provide for Laying out, Opening, Extending, Widening, Straightening or
<br />Closing up, in Whole or in Part, any Street, Square„ Lane, Alley, Court or Place Within
<br />Municipalities, and to Condemn and Acquire any and all Land and Property Necessary or conven-
<br />ient for that Purpose", approved March 6, 1889, and amendments thereto.
