170 <br />Beginning at a point 3n the easterly line of <br />Main Street in the City of Redwood City, California, <br />distant thereon South 3031130" East 85 feet from the <br />intersection of the southerly line of Lot 20, Main <br />Street Lots, with the easterly line of Main Street, <br />as shown on map of "Town of Mezesville,11 recorded <br />August 1, 1856, in Book 1 of Maps at page 79, Records <br />of San Mateo County, State of California, said point <br />being intersection of easterly line of Main Street <br />and southerly line of Broadway; thence from said <br />point of beginning on and along the southerly line <br />of Broadway South 86028130" West 230.57 feet to the <br />westerly line of Walnut Street. thence on and along said <br />westerly line of Walnut Street extended in a straight <br />line across Broadway North 3038130" West 2.00 feet; ' <br />thence westerly parallel to the southerly line of <br />Broadway North 86028130" East 230.57 feet to the easterly <br />line of Main Street, extended in a straight line across <br />Broadway; thence on and along said extension of the <br />easterly line of Main Street South 3031130" East 2.00 <br />feet to the point of beginning; being a strip 2.00 feet <br />in width parallel and adjacent to the southerly line of <br />Broadway and northerly therefrom. <br />All the herein.proposed work shall be done in <br />pursuance of and in conformity with an Act of the <br />Legislature of the State of California entitled "An Act <br />to provide for the laying out, opening, extending.. <br />widening, lengthening or closing up, in whole or in part, <br />any street, square, lane, alley court or place within j <br />municipalities, and to condemn and acquire any and all lands <br />and property necessary and convenient for that purpose", <br />approved March 6, 1889, and the several acts amendatory <br />thereof or supplemental thereto. <br />AND WHEREAS, Said Council, in and by said Resolution <br />of Intention, did declare that no land was necessary to be <br />taken for said work and improvements and that no assessment <br />was necessary for said work and improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, the Street Superintendent of the City of ; <br />Redwood City did thereupon cause notices of the passage of i <br />said Resolution of Intention No. L-6 to be duly published <br />and posted as required by law, as appears from the affidavits <br />of C. L. Dimmitt and Sam H. Winklebleck, now on file in <br />the office of the Clerk of the City of Redwood City, to <br />which reference is hereby made and the same are made a <br />part hereof; and <br />WHEREAS, within the time fixed by law wherein objections <br />could be made, to the work and improvements described in said <br />Resolution of Intention No. L-6, no objedtions of any kind <br />were made and delivered to the Clerk of said City of Redwood <br />City, as required by law; and <br />WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Redwood City has <br />determined and does hereby determine that no further pro- <br />ceedings are necessary or proper in the premises and that <br />no damage will result to any one by the closing of said <br />portion of said Broadway hereinbefore mentioned, but that <br />the closing thereof is, and will be, for the public interest a <br />and benefit and that said portion of Broadway hereinbefore and <br />hereinafter mentioned should be abandoned and vacated as a <br />public street and highway, and permanently closed. <br />NOW THEREFORE, It is by the Council of the City of <br />Redwood City resolved and determined, <br />That the following described portion of Broadway in <br />said City of Redwood City be closed and vacated as a public <br />street and highway, to -wit: <br />Beginning at a point in the easterly line of Main Street <br />in the City of Redwood City, California, distant thereon South <br />303113" East 85 feet from the intersection.of the southerly <br />line of Lot 200 Main Street Lots with the easterly line of <br />Main Street, as shown on map of ;Town of Mezesville,11 re- <br />corded August 1, 1856, in Book 1 of Maps at page 79, Records F <br />of San Mateo County, State of California, said point being <br />intersection of easterly line of Main Street and southerly <br />line of Broadway; thence from said point of beginning on <br />and along the southerly line of Broadway South 86028130" <br />West 230.57 feet to the westerly line of Walnut Street; <br />
