204 -P� <br />the parties concerned to this effect. <br />Mrs. M. Schmidt addressed the Council concerning the necessity of certain <br />drainage along the Valota Road and the City Manager reported that the <br />matter was being taken care of already. <br />In the case of Vierra vs. the Cita* of Redwood City, the City Attorney <br />recommended that the matter be continued until the next meeting. <br />A letter was handed to the clerk to read addressed to Representative <br />Harry L. Parkman from H. E. Smith, Supt. of Accounts,,State Department <br />of Finance, concerning the cemetery situation and upon motion of <br />Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Stafford the matter was <br />referred to the City Attorney for further investigation. <br />Councilman McCarthy presented a plan suggested by Superintendent of <br />Parks Hopkins for the ornamentation of hezes Plaza where the American <br />;,egion Building is located. Upon motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded <br />by Councilman Hildebrant, the Superintendent of Parks was authorized to <br />make the improvement as outlined, the cost of trees and shrubbery to be <br />taken out of the Contingent Fund. <br />City Engineer Dimmitt spoke briefly on the Bradford Street bridge and <br />Councilman McCarthy and City Manager Rolison were asked to take the <br />matter up with the Highway Department. <br />Uouncilman Stafford asked whether or not the option on the.QtDea property <br />had expired and the matter was referred to the T+tanager to look up the <br />agreement. <br />Mr. A. Wentz and others again spoke concerning the Fox farm and the Council <br />indicated their willingness to do whatever was right in the matter. <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty moved that a vote of <br />thanks be extended to the press of Redwood City for its support of the <br />recent bond election. <br />The City Engineer presented plans and specifications for the construction of <br />the Yacht Harbor Clubhouse and upon motion of Councilman Thorning, <br />seconded by Councilman Stafford they were adopted with instructions that <br />a notice be published inviting sealed bids to be opened at the next <br />regular meeting. <br />Affidavit of Lora C. Benning in the matter of publishing ordinance <br />a to. 310, calling a special election in the City of Redwood City, <br />and in the matter of publishing notice of election, election <br />notices and nominees for public office for the general municipal <br />election to be held in said City on the 14th day of April, 1930, <br />and the affidavit of W.A. Price, City Clerk, in the matter of <br />notification of election officers of their appointment for, said <br />special and consolidated election, and the affidavit of B.E.Myers, <br />City Clerk, in the matter of mailing sample ballots and precinct <br />cards to all qualified `electors in the City of Redwood City, were <br />7 <br />D <br />F <br />
