<br />Resolved that it is the inten-
<br />tion of ilia Council of the CIty of
<br />Redwood City, County of San Ma-
<br />teo, State of California, to order
<br />the following work to be done
<br />and improvements to be made, in
<br />said City of,Redwood CIty, to -wit:
<br />That Chestnut Street in the City
<br />of Redwood City from the north-
<br />easterly line of Heller Street'
<br />northeasterly to the southwesterly
<br />line of the Middlefield Road and
<br />from the northeasterly line of the
<br />Middlefield Road northeasterly to
<br />the southwesterly line of Stam-
<br />baugh, Street and also that por-
<br />tion of the intersection of Chest-
<br />nut Street with Stambaugh Street
<br />,lying between the southeasterly
<br />line of Chesynut Street extended
<br />northeasterly across Stambaugh
<br />Street and a line parallel to and
<br />distant two (2) feet southeasterly
<br />from the southeasterly rail of the
<br />Southern Pacific Railroad Com.
<br />pany's spur track; excepting how-
<br />ever from the above described,
<br />work on Chestnut Street the area
<br />embraced between the rails and a
<br />line parallel to and two (2) feet
<br />distant from each rail of the
<br />Southern Pacific Railroad Com-
<br />pany's spur track on Chestnut
<br />Street, be Improved as follows, to.
<br />wit:
<br />1. That all that portion of Chest-
<br />nut Street herein described and
<br />between the existing curbs there-
<br />on be improved by being graded
<br />and having constructed thereon a
<br />hydraulic cement concrete pave.
<br />ment six (6) inches thick laid
<br />upon a base of broken stone three
<br />(3) inches thick after roiling with
<br />a cushion of sand one (1) inch
<br />thick laid between said broken
<br />stone base and said concrete pave-
<br />ment; provided however, that said
<br />cement concrete pavement shall
<br />have a thickness of eight (8)
<br />inches along each edge thereof
<br />nearest the center of said Chest-
<br />nut Street and shall taper to a
<br />thickness of six (6) inches three
<br />(3) feet from each of said edges.
<br />Reference is hereby wade to the
<br />patent license .agreement of Me-
<br />Everlast, Incorporated, dated the
<br />12th day of October, 1928, and
<br />now on file in the office of the
<br />Clerk of the City of Redwood
<br />City, and the same Is made a part I{
<br />hereof,
<br />Reference Is hereby made to the
<br />patent license agreement of Con-
<br />crete Curing Inc. dated the 2nd
<br />day of December, 1929, and now
<br />on file in the office of the Clerk
<br />of the City of Redwood City, and
<br />the same is made a part hereof,
<br />The width of the streets herein-
<br />before mentioned, and the width
<br />of the roadways of said streets,
<br />and the width of the sidewalks
<br />of said streets are to be and are
<br />as shown on the plans, profiles,
<br />and detailed drawings hereinafter
<br />referred to herein.
<br />That the official elevations for
<br />the street grades of said streets
<br />hereinbefore mentioned, crown
<br />grades, curb grades and grade
<br />elevations for top of gutters be
<br />changed and grades different from
<br />those established or.adopted prior
<br />to the adoption by the Council of
<br />the City of Redwood City of the

<br />plans, profiles, detailed drawings
<br />and specifications hereinafter re-
<br />ferred to herein shall be adopt-
<br />ed, and such official and different
<br />and prior grades shall be modi-
<br />fied and are hereby modified and
<br />changed so that the official grades
<br />shall be and conform to the grades
<br />as shown on the plans, profiles
<br />and detailed drawings for said
<br />work and improvements, which
<br />plans, profiles and detailed draw-
<br />ings were heretofore adopted by
<br />the Council of the City of Red-
<br />wood City on the 16th day of
<br />June, 1930, by "Resolution Adopt-
<br />ing Plans, Profiles and Specifica-
<br />tions No. M-8;' which plans, pro-
<br />files, detailed drawings and speci-
<br />fications are now on file in the
<br />office of the Cleric of the City
<br />of Redwood City and to which
<br />plans, profiles, detailed drawings
<br />and specifications reference is
<br />hereby made for a description of
<br />the grades at which said work is
<br />to be done and said improvements
<br />made and the same are made a
<br />part hereof.
<br />All the bereinbefore and here-
<br />inabove mentioned and described
<br />work and improvements are to be
<br />done and made at the locations
<br />and positions and of the sizes and
<br />dimensions and of the materials as
<br />shown and described on the plans,
<br />profiles, detailed drawings and
<br />specifications adopted by the
<br />Council of the City of Redwood
<br />City on the 16th day of June, 1930,
<br />and now on file in the office of
<br />the Clerk of said City; to which
<br />plans, profiles, detailed drawings
<br />and specifications reference Is
<br />hereby made for a complete de-
<br />scription and location of said work
<br />and improvements and for further
<br />particulars, and the same are
<br />made a part hereof.
<br />And the Council of the City
<br />of Redwood City does hereby de-
<br />termine and declare that the fore-
<br />going described work and im-
<br />provements are of more than local I
<br />or ordinary public benefit and
<br />will affect and benefit the lands
<br />and district hereinafter mentioned,
<br />which said district is hereby de-
<br />clared to be the district bene-
<br />fited by said work and improve-
<br />ments; that therefore the entire
<br />costs and expenses of said work
<br />and improvements shall be and
<br />are hereby made chargeable
<br />against and shall be assessed up-
<br />on said lands and district, which
<br />district Is within the limits of the
<br />City of Redwood City, County of
<br />'San Mateo, State of California,',
<br />and said district Is described and
<br />shown on a certain map or plat
<br />entitled "Map Showing Assessment
<br />District under Resolution of In-
<br />tention No. M-8," which map or
<br />plat was adopted and approved by
<br />the Council of the City of Red-
<br />wood City on the 16th day of
<br />Juno, 1030, and which map or
<br />plat Is now on file in the office
<br />of the Clerk of said City of Red-
<br />wood -City, and to which map or
<br />plat reference Is hereby made for
<br />an accurate and complete de-
<br />scription and location of said as.
