<br />on the centerline of the survey for the State Highway, known as road
<br />1V San Mateo County, Route 68, Section C; thence continuing along said
<br />southerly li�-o South 610 13' 20" East 108.16 feet (South 810 15' 24" East
<br />on High -ray plans); thence leavin- the southerly line of thn Bay Shore
<br />Highway on the arc of a curve to the left with a radius of 7.5 feet (the
<br />chord of which curve bears South 470 38' 20" west 38.93 feet) a distance
<br />of 44.63 feet; thence South 30 30' East 71.32 feet, more or less, to the
<br />point of beginning.
<br />And said Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby determine
<br />and declare that the proposed work and improvements are of more than
<br />local or ordinary public benefit and will effect and benefit the lands
<br />and district hereinafter described, which said district is hereby declared
<br />to be the district benefited by said work and improvements and that
<br />therefore the entire damages, costs and expenses of said work and improve-
<br />ments shall be and are hereby made chargeable upon and shall be assessed
<br />against said lands and district, which district is within the limits
<br />of the City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, State of California,
<br />and the exterior boundary of said district and the lands benefited by
<br />said work and improvements are particularly described, as follows, to -writ:
<br />Beginning at the most southerly corner of Block 79, as same is
<br />shown on "Mlap of Eastern Addition of Redwood City", filed for record
<br />November 3, 1862, in Book 2 of I.Tiscellaneous Records at page 85, Records
<br />of San Mateo County, California; said point being the point of inter-
<br />section of the nortI resterly line of Elm Street with the northerly line
<br />of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right of way; thence north-
<br />westerly along said northerly line to the center of the easterly branch
<br />of Redwood Creek; thence northerly along said centerline and the center-
<br />line of Redwood Creek to its intersection with the southerly projection
<br />of the division line between Lots 15 and 16, as same are shown on "Map of
<br />Embarcadero Subdivision, Redwood City", filed for record January 22,
<br />1913, in Book 8 of Maps at page 38; thence northerly along said southerly
<br />projection, and continuing along said division line and its projection
<br />northerly to tho southerly line of the right of way of the Bay Shore
<br />Highway; thence easterly along said southerly line to its intersection
<br />with the northvresterly line of Steinberger Street; thence southerly along
<br />the northwesterly line of Steinberger Street to the northerly line of
<br />Bradford Street; thence westerly along the northerly line of Bradford
<br />Street to its intersection vrith the northerly projection of the westerly
<br />line of Block 17, as same is shown on "Map of Svreoney's Addition to
<br />Redwood City', filed for record november 2, 1876 in Book 3 of Maps at
<br />page 24, Records of San Mateo County, California; thence southerly along
<br />said northerly projection and along said westerly line of Block 17, to
<br />the northerly line of Stambaugh Street; thence southeasterly along said
<br />northerly line of Stambaugh Street to the southeasterly line of Iaple
<br />Street, as shown on map of Eastern Addition, above referred to; thence
<br />southwesterly along the southeasterly line of Maple Street to the divis-
<br />ion line between Lots 10 and 11, Block 86, Map of Eastern Addition; thence
<br />southeasterly along said division line to the southeasterly line
<br />of said Lot 10; thence southwesterly along said southeasterly line to
<br />division line between Lots 3 and 4; thence southeasterly along said divis-
<br />ion line to the nortinresterly line of Cassia Street; thence southwester-
<br />ly along same to the northeasterly line of Heller Street; thence in a
<br />straight line across Heller Street to point of intersection of the south-
<br />easterly line of Cassia Street with the southwesterly line of Heller
<br />Street; thence southeasterly along said southwesterly line of Heller
<br />Street to the northwesterly line of Elm Street; thence southwesterly
<br />along the northwesterly line of Elm Street to the point of beginning.
<br />In the description of the foregoing district whenever the boundary
<br />of said district runs along the line of any street, said boundary line
<br />crosses all intersecting streets or avenues between the points mentioned
<br />in the foregoing description.
<br />All roads, streets, avenues, boulevards, parks and public ways
<br />included within said assessment district shall be omitted from any
<br />assessment levied for damages, costs or expenses of the work aforesaid,
<br />same being now in public use.
<br />A map or plat of said assessment district is now on file in the
<br />office of the Clerk of the City of Redwood City, to which reference is
<br />hereby made for an accurate and complete description and location of
<br />said assessment district and the same is made a part hereof.
<br />All the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of and in
<br />conformity with an Act of the Leglislature of the State of California
<br />entitled, "An Act to Provide for Laying out, Opening, Extending, Widen-
<br />ing, Straightening or Closing up, in Whole or in Park, any Street, Square,
<br />Lane, Alley, Court or Place with Municipalities, and to Condemn and
<br />Acquire any and all Land and Property Necessary or Convenient for that
