E. =-RS <br />Clerk of the City of Redwood City <br />t <br />I hereby approve the foregoing resolution this 22nd day of <br />December, 1930. <br />t <br />DANIEL R STAFFORD <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City. <br />I <br />z <br />The City Manager reported in regard to the request of the War Veterans Welfare Board that he <br />a <br /># had a communication from the Secretary and Manager of the League of California <br />Municipalities in which was expressed the opinion that the City Council is without <br />power to order a refund of taxes levied on property acquired after March 1. Upon <br />3 <br />motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Beeger, it was decided to <br />deny the request of the Board for the exemption of these taxes. <br />The City Manager also spoke about the straightening of E1 Camino Real from Rogers <br />Street north and of his interview with the Higknray Commission and also with <br />representatives of the Southern Pacific Company. The City Attorney also explained <br />the status of the suit to quiet title in the name of the Southern Pacific Company. <br />In a written communication, the City Manager submitted the bids of the follot-ring companies <br />for cast iron pipe and recommended that the contract be awarded to the United States <br />a Pipe and Foundry Company at a price of $6,685.70 whose bide appears below.
