358
The City Attorney brought up the need for urgent action in connection with the tree planting
project under Resolution M-15 and that the Superintendent of Parks would like to start
planting trees as soon as possible. He suggested that the Superintendent of Parks be
given instructions to proceed at once with the work with the idea that the necesary
funds mould be advanced from the General Fund until such time as the assessments from
this district could be collected. Upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by
Councilman Hildebrant, it was so ordered.
Ittivas informally decided in connection with the sale of property to Asa Hull that the price
be made $1,250.00 according to Mr. Hull*•s understanding and the City Manager was
instructed to settle the matter on that basis.
Councilman McCarthy asked about the feasibility of signals at Broadway and the Railroad track
suggesting a wigwag and electric bell and possibly a second train warning. After some
discussion the City Manager was instructed to investigate and report back.
Councilman McCarthy inquired as to the status of the papers clearing up the title to the
Library property and the Attorney reported that he was attending to'it. Likewise the
question of quieting title to property along the track and Mezes Plaza. Concerning
the Leonard & Holt deeds, Councilman Beeger reported that it seemed rather impracticable
to expect any concessions from Leonard & Bolt at the present time but recommended that
the deeds for the other small parcels be accepted by the City at this time.
Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman Dusel, offered the following Resolutions accepting
deeds from Leonard & Holt granting Easter Cross and other property to the City of
Redwood City:
RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that the hereunto
annexed deed, dated the 25th day of April, 1929, and made between LEONARD &
HOLT, a corporation, first party, and the TOWN OF REDVOUD CITY, a municipal
corporation of the State of California, second party, be and the same is hereby
accepted by the City of Redwood City and the Clerk of this Council is hereby
ordered to have the same recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the
County of San Mateo, State of California.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and rgplarly
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 19th day of January, 1931, by the following vote:
Ayes.and in favor of the passage of the foregoing resolution,
Councilmen: H A Beeger, W J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, E B Hinman, P A McCarthy,
G W McNulty, D R Stafford.
Noes and against the passage of the foregoing resolution,
Councilmen: NONE
Absent: Councilmen: NONE
DANIEL R STAFFORD
Mayor of the City of Redwood City.
Attest:
B E MYERS
Clerk of the City of Redwood City
1931.
I hereby approve the foregoing resolution this 19th day of January,
DANIEL R STAFFORD
Mayor of the City of Redwood City
1
