368 <br />i <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 2, 1931 <br />7:30 P M ' <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor D R Stafford, H A Beefier, <br />W. J. Dusel, P A McCarthy, Geo McNulty E B Hinman. City C1erk.B E Myers, Absent: <br />Councilman C J Hildebrant. <br />The minutes of the meeting of February 16th were approved,.upon motion of Councilman <br />Dusel, seconded by Councilman McCarthy. <br />Mr. Howe and Mr. Hare for the General Properties, Inc., addressed the Council concerning <br />a quit claim deed for a certain parcel of land lying between,Theatre and Hamilton <br />Streets, and 'the Railroad. After discussion the matter was laid over until the <br />following meeting. <br />C. D. Swett appeared concerning taxi -cab insurance but no action was taken by the Council. <br />A -Mr. Williams appeared for E. Ahern in regard to application to subdivide certain property, <br />the application having been recommended by the Planning Commission. The City Attorney <br />explained concerning the cost and confusion resulting from reassessments for divided <br />property and suggested that the applicant be asked to make a deposit of $26.00 to <br />guarantee these costs and also to furnish two copies of the map showing the subdivision. <br />Upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the permit was granted <br />subject to the conditions herein outlined. <br />Upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman.Dusel, the.Clerk.was asked to express <br />to the Highway Commission and one or two of its officers the appreciation of the <br />Council for the specific announcement of the opening of the Bay Shore Highway. <br />upon motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Dusel, petition of F. Figone <br />for the paving of a block on Lincoln Avenue was filed and the City Engineer in- <br />structed to ascertain the frontage represented. <br />A letter was submitted by the"Greater South Redwood Improvement Club concerning the <br />possibility of putting rock shoulders along the Woodside Road within the City limits, <br />and, upon motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Beeger, this matter <br />was referred to the Manager and Engineer to investigate and report. <br />A letter was received from the League of California Municipalities concerning the <br />liability of cities, counties, and public officials Senate bills 52 and 53 and, <br />upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Clerk was <br />instructed to notify our Assemblyman and Senator that the Council approved these <br />bills and that effort should be made to have them passed. <br />The City Engineer made written report confirming his oral report concerning the extension <br />of Anomar Street into the adjoining territory outside the City limits which letter <br />was ordered filed, upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Dusel. <br />Upon motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the City Engineer <br />was authorized to advertise for bids to be opened March 16th at the office of the <br />City Manager for two (2) deep well turbine pumps and two (2) centrifugal booster pumps. <br />0 <br />Ll <br />0 <br />
