382,; <br />1, <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING <br />REDKOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 23, 1931 <br />7:30 P lI <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor D R Stafford, H A Beeger, <br />W J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, E B Hinman, P A McCarthy, G W McNulty. City Clerk B E Myers. <br />The minutes of the last meeting were approved, on motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded <br />by Councilman Hildebrant. <br />Ordinance 323 amending Ordinance 319 was introduced the second time and, upon motion of <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hinman, was adopted. SeQ 400 1C <br />Mr. E. Gauthier asked what could be done about the sidewalk on Duane Street between <br />Arlington and Whipple Avenues and the Clerk was instructed to tell Mr. Gauthier <br />that the owners on the south side of this street were personally putting in the <br />sidewalk. <br />The application of Harry Lee for plumberts license was approved, on motion of Councilman <br />McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Dusel, offered the following resolution accepting <br />deed from the S. H. Frank & Company for parcel necessary in the extension of Main Street: <br />RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that the <br />hereunto annexed deed, dated the 19th day of February, 1931, and made <br />between S.H. FRANK & CO., a corporation, party of the first part, and <br />the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a municipal corporation of the State of Calif- <br />ornia, party of the second part, be and the same is hereby accepted by <br />the City of Redwood City,.and the Clerk of this Council is hereby ordered <br />to have the same recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the <br />County of San Mateo, State of California. <br />AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood <br />City that the land and property described in the deed hereinbefore <br />mentioned be and the same is hereby dedicated to public use for street <br />purposes and that the same shall become and is hereby declared to be <br />a part of Main Street in said City of Redwood City. <br />I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and <br />regularly passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City <br />at a regular adjourned meeting thereof held on the 23rd day of March, <br />1931, by the following vote: <br />Ayes and in favor of the passage of the foregoing resolution, <br />Councilmen: H A Beeger, W J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, E B Hinman, P A Mc <br />Carthy, G W McNulty, D R Stafford. <br />Noes and against the passage of the foregoing resolution, <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />Absent: Councilmen NONE <br />DANIEL R STAFFORD <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />Attest: <br />BEty of <br />Clerk of the City of Redwood City <br />I hereby approve the foregoing resolution this 23rd day of March, <br />1931. <br />DANIEL R STAFFORD <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />Mr_. YJm. J. Locke of the League of California Municipalities called attention to Senate <br />bill No. 398 which changes the method of distributing taxes on intangible personal <br />property giving the entire amount to the County. Upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, <br />seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the Clerk was instructed to write our representatives <br />to oppose the bill. <br />The City Manager filed formal recommendation to award the contract for two deep well turbine <br />
