414 1tESOLVED, THAT WHEREAS, the board of supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, have been considering the construction of a road to the bridge head of the San Mateo- Hayward bridge south of the present roadway, and WHEREAS, we feel that a complete and thorough study of this situation, both financially and as to the benefits to be derived therefrom, will show that this road should be constructed from a point at, or near Ralston Avenue and the Bayshore Highway, in the City of Belmont. NOW THEREFORE .BE IT RESELVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City, that the board of supervisors of the County of San Mateo, be requested to make a complete and thorough study of the benefits to be derived by the southern portion of San Mateo County, from the construction of such a road before a final determination is made as to the location of said road. DANIEL R STAFFORD Mayor of the City of Redwood City A letter from the Redwood City Promotion"Club protesting the election for parks and recreational centers was read and ordered filed, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty. A letter from the Fos Sequoia Theatre signed by the manager, Thos. Kane, asking that the Council refuse to waive the license in favor'of, the Foley & Burke Carnival Company which waiver had been ask:bd for by a local organization, upon motion of Councilman MoCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, was ordered filed. The Clerk read a communication from Mr. W. C. Timmons in which he made a protest concernipg buildings adjacent to his lot, insisting that they offered considerable of a fire hazard. This letter was also ordered filed, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant. On motion of Councilman MoGatthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the City 1 Manager was instructed to notify reliable auditing firms that bids would be o t received before the first meeting in August'covering the auditing of the city's books for the present fiscal year. Councilman Hinman filed a written resignation, effective on or before August lb at the pleasure of the Council. The letter was ordered filed, upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Dusel. The City Attorney in a written communication to the Council submitted a report covering the bonds deposited with the Treasurer by the Bank of America and the First National Bank and held for the City Treasurer by the Bank of America Trust Department and he informed the Council that all bonds were approved by him.
