434 <br />Attest: <br />B E MYERS <br />Clerk of the City of RedwoodCity <br />I hereby approve the foregoing resolution this 2nd day of November, 1931. <br />DANIEL R STAFFORD <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />The City Attorney reported progress on the 1915 Act delinquencies and also explained to the <br />Council the desirability of consolidating certain precincts for the coming election. <br />Councilman Dusel explained <br />that the cldck in the <br />upper room at the fire house was not <br />functioning very well <br />and suggested that an <br />electrical mechanism be installed in that <br />clock similar to that <br />in use in the Council <br />chamber. On motion of Councilman Dusel, <br />seconded by Councilman Lambert, the City Manager was instructed to arrange for the <br />installation. <br />E.B. Hinman, representing the financial committee of the group of merchants, petitioned <br />the Council to make a donation for the decoration of the city streets during the <br />, Christmas time. On motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Lambert, it <br />was decided to donate to this cause the same as last year — $200.00. <br />The City Manager, in connection with the removal of the shacks along the creek, explained <br />that maps were ready and he would make a report at the next meeting. <br />Mayor Stafford made a report on the Une#loyment Committee Organization, on which subject <br />both Councilman McCarthy and the City Manager also spoke. Finally,. on motion of <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hi]d ebrant, it was decided, in connection <br />with contributions from the city employees, that the payroll checks would be made <br />in the regular form but that contributions would be asked from all employees who <br />had been employed one month or longer prior to November 1st and that the expected <br />contributions would be one day's salary based on a thirty day month. In addition, <br />the Council accepted the suggestion of the City Manager that the moneybe used for <br />some specific purpose and he was authorized to go ahead with this work, to be under <br />the supervision of a committee of five consisting of himself and four others, heads <br />of departments. <br />The reports of the various departments were received and filed. <br />The approved claims were ordered paid, on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by <br />Councilman Lambert. <br />Adjournment. <br />City <br />DOD n� <br />
