Kelly, representing Hare, Brewer & Clarke, asked that the map submitted by hir4,the subdivision between Lexington and Harrison Avenues, be accepted.-'Upon.motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the map was accepted with the understanding that the storm water easement shown on the map would also be utilized for public utilities were a regular storm sewer to be constructed along this easement. F The Rosa Cavalli matter was again brought before the Council and it was decided, on i motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, to deny her request i for reduction on taxes on account of the fire which occurred in June, 1931. k' The question of the extension of Rogers Street was continued until the next meeting. The City Manager reported concerning the old buildings along the slough stating that he had in mind the razing of two old buildings about which there wouldbe no objection whatever, but that later on he expected that with cooperation of the owners to be able to dispense with other fire hazards. Upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, he was instructed to go ahead ac— cording to the recommendations of his committee. The City Attorney read and explained an ordinance regulating the selling and taking of subscriptions, etc., from house to house in Redwood City and, on motion of Council— man Dusel, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the ordinance was formally introduced. P 1hl The City Attorney also explained that he had talked with the managers of the Redwood City Tribune about the advertising and the rate to be charged. He was of the opinion that the contract that the City had with the Redwood City Standard would not necessarily bind the Tribune but he indicated that the management appeared willing to do the right thing. The City Manager reported concerning his interview with a representative from Leonard & Holt and also stated that a check had been received from him for $447.55 with the further explanation that the representative had promised to either pay all or most of the outstanding account by the end of the month. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the Manager was instructed to write Leonard & Holt that all of this amount or a very substantial part must be paid on or before December 7th or the service would be discontinued. 9�a 1�' { Milton R. Mayor Stafford, in connection with the work of the Unemployment Committee, explained r about the time and effort Mr. Pryor was putting in and suggested that inasmuch as he was devoting all of his time practically to that work and neglecting opportunities .� in his own business that he should be compensated and it was finally decided, on motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman Dusel, that fdr the months of November, December, January and February Mr. Pryor be paid $50.00 a month.
