ME MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 4, 1932 7:30 P M Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor D R Stafford, H ABBeger, W J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, C G Lambert, Paul A McCarthy, G W McNulty. City Clerk 3 E Myers. The minutes of the meeting of December 21st, with slight corrections, were approved, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Duisel. Mr. W.L. Meussdorffer presented a petition signed by seven interested property owners requesting that the Council institute proceedings for the installation of a two light standard street lighting system on Main Street from Maple Street to E1 Camino Real. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Lambert, the matter was referred to the City Attorney and Engineer to take the initial steps to start the proceedings. Norman S. Menifee again addressed the Council concerning the issuance of taxi licenses to bus drivers who have routes outside of the city limits and it was recommended to him by the Council that he file regular application for this to be acted upon at the next meeting. The Redwood City Yacht Club filed a resolution with the Council requesting release f rom the lease between the city and the yacht club for the use of the yacht club house building at the Harbor. Upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the lease was cancelled with the understanding that the city retain the $250 deposit for.the last ten months of the lease. Representatives of the Redwood City Sportmen's, Club addressed the Council and it was finally agreed, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, to permit the Sportmen's Club the use of the yacht club property under conditions substantially as enumerated below: The City of Redwood City agrees to rent to the Redwood City Sportmen's Association, the Yacht Club building and the yacht club pier and float upon its harbor property on a monthly tenancy, for the sum of twenty–five ($25.00) dollars per month, -payable monthly in advance, on the first day of each and every month commencing on the first day of January, 1932• The Redwood City Sportmen's Association to employ a keeper, or caretaker, whose duties, in addition to such as may be imposed by the association, shall be to care for the convenience building, berths, floats, waltz, pump and pump house, and all other property owned by the City of Redwood City upon the harbor property, and in addition, to act as caretaker for the boats occupying the berths rented by the city. The City of Redwood City agrees to pay to the Sportmen's Association the sum of forty dollars($40.00) per mo nth towards said caretaker's salary. The Sportmen's Association to pay for telephone, gas and electricity used in the Yacht Club building. v On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, Ordinance No• 331 (Establishing election precincts within the City limits) was formally adopted. The City Attorney submitted for introduction amended taxi ordinance which was properly introduced, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Lambert. The City Manager sketched the situation concerning the desirability of obtaining a new reservoir site and several of the Councilmen agreed to go out to look at prospective sites. The Mayor appointed on the Committee for New Site for Reservoir: Councilmen Seeger (Chairman), Lambert and McCarthy. i I
