Mayor Stafford, in connection with the $250 which had been previously allowed the <br />Unemployment Relief Com;aittee, explained that due to the rainy weather it <br />had been impossible to give work to anybody and he thought this amount should <br />b.e given to the committee distributing food to the indigents under the leader— <br />ship of Z.T. Thorning and Carl Stoner. His suggestion was ratified and the <br />money ordered paid, on motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman <br />Hildebrant. <br />The approved claims were ordered paid, on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by <br />Councilman Hildebrant. <br />Adjournment to 8:15 p.m., January 25th. <br />BEM:DCD <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 25., 1932 <br />7:30 P M <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor D R Stafford, H A Beeger, <br />W J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, C G Lambert, G W McNulty. City Clerk B E Myers. <br />Absent: Councilman P A McCarthy. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held January 18, 1932, were continued for approval <br />until the next regular meeting, on motion df Councilman Dusel, seconded by <br />Councilmen Lambert. <br />Several taxi men of Redwood City appeared opposing the application of T.J. Henderson <br />for a taxi permit. After considerable discussion relative to taxi matters in <br />general, on motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman Dusel, the <br />�+ application of Mr. Henderson for a taxi permit was denied. <br />On motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the further <br />hearing on Ordinance No. 332, amending the motor bus ordinance, was continued <br />to February 19 1932, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. <br />Mrs. Jude, appeared before the.Council and requested a permit to conduct a children's <br />home on Edgewood Road, in the first residential district. After discussion of the <br />matter, on motion of Councilman Dusel, sedonded by Councilman Lambert, said permit <br />was denied. <br />Dr. N.C. Cummings and John Gill, Library trustees, addressed the Council relative to <br />submitting a bond issue to the people at the general municipal election in April, <br />for the construction of a new library building.
