W 0 MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL FEB. 15, 1932 7:30 P M Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: H A Beeger, N J Dusel, 0 J Hildebrant, C G Lambert, P A McCarthy, Geo w McNulty. City Clerk B E Myers. Absent, Mayor D R Stafford. In the absence of Mayor Stafford, Councilman Beeger was chosen to serve as chairman. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the minutes of February 1st were approved. On motion of Councilman fficCarthy, seconded by Councilmah Hildebrant, the letter -report of C.E. Piatt, auditor, was ordered received and filed. Mr. G.R. Kennedy, representing the Standard Oil Company, asked permission to erect a 301000 f gallon gasoline holder at its plant on Willow and Shasta Streets and on motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the permit was granted. The City Manager addressed a communication to the Council concerning the present status of the account of Leonard & Holt for water service: Members of the Council expressed themselves as being dissatisfied and thought an adjustment should be made at once. After considerable discussion, it was finally decided to make one more effort to arrive at some settlement and, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Dusel, the Clerk was instructed to write to Leonard & Holt to have a representative at the adjourned meeting to be held February 29th at 7:30 p.m., and to have their water recirds in the hands of the City Treasurer I by February 25th to check up the delinquent water bills. The City L4anager presented the claim of Z.T. Thorning of the Special Relief Committee requesting help from the City and his claim for $500 was included with the other approved claims. The City Attorney explained a resolution establishing Jefferson Avenue as a boulevard and the placing of arterial stop signs on Cleveland. Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, offered this resolution, which appears below: RESOLVED that pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 305 of the City of Redwood City, passed and adopted on the 6th day of October, 1929, that Jefferson Avenue from the Bay Shore Highway to the southwest end of said Jefferson Avenue be and the same is hereby declared a boulevard street, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Streets of the said City of Redwood City cause to be placed on the north— easterly side of Cleveland Street and Jefferson Avenue and on the south westerly side of Cleveland Street at Jefferson Avenue an art— erial or boulevard stop sign. Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th day of February, 1932, by the following vote: Ayes and in favor of the passage of the foregoing resolution, Councilmen: H A Beeger, w J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, C G Lambert, P A MC CartlV, G N McNulty.
