<br />Affidavit of Desiree Heydenfeldt in the matter of publishing Ordinance No. 332 calling a special

<br />election in the City of Redwood City, and the matter of publishing notice of election,
<br />election notices and nominees for public office for the general municipal and consolidated
<br />election held in said city on April 11, 1932, and the affidavit of B.B. Myers, City Clerk,
<br />in the matter of the notification of election officers of their appointment, and in the
<br />matter of mailing sample ballots and precinct election cards to all qualified electors
<br />within said City, were on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty,
<br />and carried, received and filed.
<br />This being the time fixed for canvassing the returns of the general municipal and consolidated IP
<br />election held in the City of Redwood City on Monday, the 11th day of April, 1932, which
<br />k
<br />election was held pursuant to Ordinance No. 332 of the Council of the City of Redwood City
<br />and according to law, said Council examined the returns of said election as delivered by the
<br />Clerk of said city, and found the same properly sealed and in proper condition.
<br />Said Council proceeded to canvass said returns and the absent voters ballots cast at said _ •j
<br />election, and having canvassed said returns in public, by opening said returns and
<br />estimating and computing the votes cast at said election, and having opened and counted
<br />the absent voters ballots cast as said election, hereby declare the result of said election
<br />as follows, to -wit:
<br />That the total number of votes cast at said election was and is 1971.
<br />That for Councilman the following candidates received the following number of votes:
<br />Robert N. Jones 1351 votes
<br />Charles G. Lambert 1299 votes
<br />Paul A. McCarthy 1223 votes
<br />George 17. McNulty 1366 votds
<br />Daniel R. Stafford 1111 votes

<br />And said Council having canvassed said returns and counted said absent voters' ballots and found
<br />that George W. McNulty, Robert N. Jones, Charles G. Lambert and Paul A. McCarthy received
<br />the highest number of votes for Councilman, upon motion of Councilman Hildebrant, seconded
<br />by Councilman Beeger, said George W. McNulty, Robert N. Jones, Charles G. Lambert and Paul A.

<br />McCarthy were declared elected members of the Council of the City of Redwood City for the
<br />full term of four (4) years. Motion carried by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen: H A Beeger,
<br />W J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, C G Lambert, P A McCarthy, G w McNulty, D R Stafford. Noes,
<br />Councilmen: None. Absent, Councilmen: None.

<br />And whereas, at said general municipal and consolidated election the proposition to incur a I
<br />bonded indebtedness in the sum of sixty thousand ($60,000) dollars for the purpose of the

<br />acquisition, construction and completion of a library building for said city was voted upon, y

<br />and it appearing to said Council that the total number of votes cast in favor of said
<br />proposition to incur said indebtedness was and is 937 votes, and that the total number of
<br />votes cast against the proposition to incur said indebtedness was and is 992 votes; and
