4173 <br />I - <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 18, 1932 <br />5:00 P LS <br />i <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor Wm J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, C G Lambert, <br />i Geo W McNulty, Robert N Jones. City Clerk B E Myers. Absent: Councilmen H A Beeger, Paul A <br />McCarthy. <br />The minutes of the meeting of July 5th were approved, on motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by <br />i Councilman Hildebrant. <br />John E. Layng and Francis E. Tinney filed a letter with the Council commending.the Council for its <br />i <br />efforts to run the City economically but also protested any out in salaries or decreasing number <br />of policemen. <br />Mrs. A. Offerman had written a letter to the City Manager and in his absence the letter was read to <br />the City Council. Mrs. Offerman protested that Mr. Arata on Main Street in grinding some of <br />his material caused a cloud of dust to come on her property and asked that it be stopped. <br />;urs. Offerman had already spoken to Lir. Drathman about it and he was asked to investigate <br />i further and report back. <br />In a letter from the Planning Commission, Henry Witte informed the Council that John Gillis term <br />i as member of the Planning Commission had es_pired and his reappointment as a member of the <br />i <br />Planning Commission was recommended. Mayor Dusel reappointed John Gill to serve on the <br />Planning Commission and his action was ratified by the Council, on motion of Councilman <br />Ji Hildebrant, seconded by Councilman Jones. <br />The City Engineer reported on bids for painting the City Hall and announced that the lowest bidder <br />iIwas J.H. Bailey. On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the <br />award was made to J.H. Bailey for the sum of $78.00. Other bidders were as follows: L.B. <br />Winiger $114.00; J.P. Bethel $106.00; L.E. Doolittle $134.00. <br />j, Jos. Casaretto appeared before the Council to make another complaint concerning the drainage at <br />his property. The matter was referred to the City Engineer for further investigation and report. <br />The City Attorney was granted permission to be away at the next regular meeting of the Council. <br />I <br />(r <br />The approved bills were ordered paid, on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman <br />Hildebrant. <br />i <br />City Clerk <br />BEM:D <br />I, <br />
